The Oregon Trail is back in a beautiful blend of charming pixel art characters, 3D environments, and cutting-edge lighting and visual effects!

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

I somehow survived my first playthrough. Don’t ask me how. But I love this game! Super great for days where you don’t know what you want to play.
Just a hard no for me. This game is a poor remake of the original classic games. It's not fun! Maybe it's because I don't like the "woke" nonsense. Maybe it's because I grew up playing the old games and this is nothing like them. Either way, I'm glad I was able to get a refund. Not even worth the $10 on sale.

13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Matched by title — a reused name can pair the wrong games. * is a critic aggregate. Prices and positions are each store's United States storefront; Epic charts worldwide. Audience and Score too, except Steam's, which is worldwide.

I bought this game 1) due to my wife's influence, and 2) because this version is very pleasing to play. Important to note that, when visiting the Media Archaeology Lab in Boulder, CO, we had the opportunity to play an older version in a very old Mac, and just that was very fun, compelling me to have this version too. Some educational games are not fun, and some fun games are not educational. I think The Oregon Trail checks the boxes for both, educational and fun at the same time. I learned a lot about the history of United States by playing it. Lots of Quality of Life improvements were implemented here, like adjusting the difficulty and the side quests. The game is also filled with little stories that help with the immersion, making it a very relaxing and satisfying experience. Totally recommend this version.
Do you really have to ask? Just download it and get the DLC. It's the only playable version of the game on modern hardware without emulation, and it's worth it for the amount of content alone.
very relaxing
get to a point group stops game says group out of water so they need to go get some idk why when there is no water in game what so ever so you tell the group to look for water to all them getting cyorol for no dam reson then you move on to a new spot even thought the game is cheating already the next spot says the same thing so you say f it and don't do it to ever one loseing all there moral for no reson agin mind you that and then all die just because the game dosnt give you food or anything for its trash rng
How will you suck and die? FIND OUT! on the Oregon trail!
Fun game and a good value, especially if you wait for it to be on sale. Solid replay options and side quests; different characters with various attributes, different routes you can take- keeps it interesting. *One word of caution for our red hat friends; there are native Americans represented in the game and women, some who are strong, independent, and have strong survival skills, so please use caution, as we know these can be triggers for you.

Historically inaccurate woke trash.
