Found this game advertised through a Stardew Valley facebook group and thought I'd give it a try. It has great potential, still needs some work in the character UI / tool selection / etc, but definitely has a good start. Unfortunately I found is the jerky movements of the screen when moving the character around makes it very difficult to follow, and was enough to make me feel motion sick, leaving me with a headache after only a few minutes. If this was resolved, I would happily give this game another go, but for now, I caution anyone who suffers vertigo or motion illness to reconsider.
This game has no map or direction in which I should go. It is cute but feels UNFINISHED... This game has a great potential...but I requested a refund because after 17 minutes, I still didn't know really where to go or what to do....
cute little game with some detailed crafting mechanics, feels a little like old school zelda crossed with stardew valley, a little clunky at first but once you get the hang of it, it's not to bad, looking forward to where this game is headed in the future. Always happy to support an indie dev.
horrible audio balancing and no support for steam deck. im mostly bedbound these days so having no SD support really sucks for me.
Retro old school pixel game, really fun and chill. I recommend to give it a try.
This is a hidden gem! I came across this game by exploring the Play Store on my phone and instantly had retro Zelda / Pokemon vibes, and boy I wasn't wrong, been playing this for two month so far. Just recently I heard this game is also available on Steam and I ran here to get it! The music is cozy and relaxing, the NPC's are cute and provide many quests. You can Craft, Cook, Brew so many items! The world is very well designed, you can fish, grow crops, unlock a friendly pet, clear dungeons! gosh I wish I had this game on my game-boy as well! I love the frequent update! Thank you so much Megis Chest for creating this amazing retro masterpiece and letting me relive the nostalgic experiences from my past! Looking forward to see what else you have in store for this game ❤️
I want to like this game, I really do but it needs some Quality of Life updates. There's no definitive "quit" moment, but there's a lot of little oddities that add up ESC does not open options up, I have to click on a star in the top right and then select the gear. I wanted to play with a controller, but it's not designed for it in a satisfactory way, I have to use the right thumb stick to move the cursor if I want to do things such as clicking the icon to gather the resource. The same is used for purchases or talking with NPCs. There is no way to remap the controls either. I have to manually select from a drop down each tool, and then I have to click on an icon to gather. There is no quick swap button to rotate between tools. If I have to click a specific icon to harvest a resource/talk to an npc, why not just make a contextual button that just does that? I'll come back and check on the game in time to see if it improves; I really want to see this little gem shine. Update: Esc now opens menu. Controller is still kind of meh; but the game is playable on mouse/keyboard in a satisfactory way. I would still like a way to quick swap tools.
I want to start this off by saying kudos to the dev. It takes a lot to create games with this many mechanics. With that being said there is a LOT of room for improvement still. I don't want to give a thumbs up or down for this yet because I want to see where the game can go and it doesn't seem fair to judge it at this stage. I'll list what I personally like and what I think could be tweaked a little. Things that I like: The graphics/sprites are adorable and comfy (some are a little glitchy where the player sprite walks through them, but that can easily be fixed) Music is cute and not distracting Multiple Craft/Sim mechanics Things that could improve: Back story is lacking, you're kind of just dumped into the game with no rhyme or reason. Controller support, I feel like this game is good for keyboard and mouse but isn't programmed well for controllers. I think if a standard action button was programmed instead of having to use the cursor every time it would make for a better controller experience. Item cycling/changing, it's a task to have to click every menu to change/use items. Creating a cycle option would fix this. Overall the game is decent considering it's made by a single indie dev, but as I said previously there a lot of room for improvement. I think the game definitely has promise and I'm intrigued to see where it goes.
Reallly cute game, although Pippin answers our questions, i feel like a <<tutorial>> to help us start the game a bit like quests to do to show us how to do stuff would improve the game a lot! I feel a bit lost at the beginning but will work my way through it! It has potential and love the retro vibe! :)
I can see that the creator has put a lot of work into the graphics and music, and most likely the gameplay. Unfortunately, at this stage in time, I can't tell, because I don't consider it to be playable. This is to do with the controls and control instructions. Using Steam deck, there is a console control guide, but it doesn't seem to correspond to what actually happens when you press those buttons. For example, I could not after 10 minutes of gameplay figure out what the genetic 'interact' button was, having tried everything I can think of. And I'm no rookie to the concept of having to jerry rig controls to the best of my ability when a game isn't fully compatible on Deck. One major problem is that the game does not change its button instructions depending on how you're playing. They stay as keyboard instructions (Press E to...) rather than corresponding to controller buttons when you indicate you're playing with a controller. I can see this cosy game has a lot of potential and I hope it's creator irons out the kinks. I can't be the only person who never plays a game using a mouse and keyboard if I can help it. How will I loaf around on my couch? Lol
