Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 54/day in the week to Jul 18 → 27.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The opening tutorial had me thrilled. The aesthetic and potential seemed very high. I was excited to use these systems to solve some cases. Unfortunately, the game is more interested in telling a story than building on gameplay principles. The story is...fine. It takes some big swings, but most of them are heavily foreshadowed and easy to predict. I wish this game had spent more time filling out the 'digital detective' gameplay suite and puzzles. I thought I'd found another Hypnospace Outlaw, Obra Dinn, or Roottrees. But it's closer to a visual novel than a detective game.
What an incredible game. Not too hard but makes you think and you get very attached to each character

10/10! Absolut abgefahrenes Erlebnis. Was zeichnet The Operator aus? - Sehr stark immersiv. - Kreative Spielidee. - Einige nette Kopfnüsse beim Finden von Zusammenhängen der Fälle. - Starke (englische) Sprecher. Gut gemacht, lieber Entwickler! Echt großes Lob, falls du das liest!
The Operator
There's a specific kind of satisfaction in being handed a suite of official-looking software and told to go find the truth. The Operator gets that feeling exactly right. You sit at your FDI terminal running facial recognition, pulling phone records, cross-referencing databases, and matching evidence, and the tools are just fiddly and authentic enough that every solved case feels like you cracked it rather than the game waving you through. Nothing lands harder than dragging two pieces of evidence together on a hunch and watching the system confirm you were right. What surprised me is how well the story holds it all up. The FMV performances could have been cheesy but they're played straight enough to sell a conspiracy that keeps widening in ways I didn't see coming, and the whole thing is wrapped in a moody, convincingly bureaucratic atmosphere that makes a desk job feel tense. It's not a long game, but it's a tight one, and it never overstays its welcome. Recommended, especially if you like detective work that actually makes you think instead of just clicking the obvious next thing.
uses ai. my fault for not seeing that requirement before getting the game. thank god i only got it for a dollar. support real artists
I wish I liked this more. This is not a game about being an FBI operator, solving cases with little guidance. This is a standard conspiracy game that pretends to have options when it is all very railroaded. The game is: 5% cool deductive work, 70% listening to people re-explain what is happening in case you quit and reloaded the game after each day 25% watching a black screen and listening to someone walking home I like the controls, as simple as they are. But I am shocked to see people compare this to anything like Obra Dinn or Case of the Golden Idol. If you have are ok with a corny story, lots of reading and listening (not detective work, just fluff), and one of the worst time-sensitive, feel-bad, mini games if seen in a game like this, then you might actually enjoy your time. This is a $5 game on sale if you have exhausted the other detective games on Steam.
THIS IS THE BEST STORY INTERACTIVE GAME I EVER PLAYED. Thanks For This Game
