About

Packing in a fully-fledged story mode with a colorful cast of musically-empowered heroes and villains, The Metronomicon sees you take control of a party of eight new masters of the “rhythmic combat arts” to wage musical warfare against a multitude of dance-mongering fiends. Control up to four concurrent heroes as they cast powerful spells, buff their teammates, and beat down their enemies with a variety of magical loot and groovin’ dance moves. The effectiveness of your team is all in the rhythm, so put on your dancing pants, light up dad’s disco ball, and prepare your body for The Metronomicon. Oh, and did I mention couch co-op? Because nothing's better than an armored dance partner.

The Metronomicon features a fantastic, fully-licensed soundtrack featuring some of the hottest electronic, synthwave, chiptune and indie artists, including an unreleased track from Shiny Toy Guns, along with tracks from YACHT, Perturbator, J-Punch, Dj CUTMAN, and many, many more. As much a soundscape as it is a soundtrack, the music behind The Metronomicon is set to be every bit as varied and exciting as the gameplay itself.

Voto: 10/10
Upsettingly bad art direction, unfunny dialogue, voice acting so bad it horseshoes twice around to being bad again, and music that is.... fine..... Like, if this game didn't come out 10 years ago, I'd be suspicious it was AI generated. Not because it's slop, just because it's.... fine.... All of the above would be forgivable if the mechanics of the game didn't also grate. Button combinations are annoying to execute with the control layout options available. Tracking enemies' elemental types is a distraction. The XP system is gratuitous and makes the game feel like a chore.

It's full of monsters. It's an adventure. It's funny. It's full of battles. It's a rhythm game. It has an amazing soundtrack. It's an rpg, it has an arena full of challenges. It's Fun!! The game mixes all of these into one great rhythm game. It has a story, and I am ashamed to say I skipped a lot of it. Especially because I am always super into the story. I even judge games on the quality of the story and dialogue yet here, I just HAD to keep playing. I had to get to the next stage, the next song, the next battle, the next upgrade and the best strategy. I was engulfed by all of these things that by the time I noticed, I had skipped most of the dialogue and understood maybe less than half of what was going on story-wise. At some point I did go back to catch what was happening. It's a cute, school-style rpg, let's travel and find our party type of story. Nothing too out of the norm for that genre. Not my favorite thing or style but forgivable since everything else was great. This is one of those games I might've skipped since it doesn't really fit in the line of games I play or tend to like. I found it browsing through Lovecraftian games. I mean, it is a play on words for Necronomicon and metronome but it's very far from the Lovecraftian genre. I am very glad my curiosity made me click on it, browse the pictures and watch the trailer/gameplay videos. I'd say this was one of those indie hidden gems. If you like any of the things I initially mentioned, give it a try. The soundtrack is great, and it has DLC for even more music and more battles.
Great game, if you have rhythm, but I have two left legs...

Bought the game because i heard the soundtrack on spotify. I should have kept listening to the soundtrack, game's boring as hell.
Buy it, especially if you got a steam deck
💋
I had to rage quit after I couldn't even finish the basic tutorial. No help on the screen or options.
