The Message from Deep Space

Ce jeu est une oeuvre d'art. La sensation de découverte, de récolter des briques de compréhension, et de former une histoire, je ne les ai vécues qu'avec Outer Wilds et The Message from Deep Space. Ici, pas de vaisseau, de guidage automatique qui vous envoie dans le soleil ou de traducteur. Vous êtes le traducteur. Assis devant un écran rempli de texte, il ne vous reste plus qu'à utiliser votre logique et parfois appeler à l'aide (le discord a une communauté très bienveillante). Ne vous laissez pas intimider par l'anglais du jeu, les informations sont compréhensibles avec un petit traducteur à côté. Ce jeu est une pépite qu'il ne faut pas rater.

A terrific game that makes the most of a simple idea, that you're building up this shared list of concepts with tutoring from an extraterrestrial source. I am actually shocked at how addictive the gameplay is. I was always trying to decode one more transmission. It was very satisfying to make it to the end. I will echo some of the QOL stuff mentioned by other commenters (I had to get outside help a handful of times where the solution just didn't make sense in context) and add that as some of the concepts become more abstract, there are fewer clues in context about what they mean, leading to some serious deductive leaps that feel impossible. Looking back over my sizable dictionary, I see opportunities for more information to be shared without giving it all away.

I emphatically recommend this game. One of the most beautifully meaningful and innovative games I've ever played. It puts you in the shoes of a scientist undergoing first contact; first contact by a method that felt oddly realistic? Or plausible, at least. The one thing I will say is that this game is not fast-paced. It builds, slowly, and does so masterfully, but just be warned that it does take its time. Still, if you like this kind of game at all, do yourself a favor and try out 'The Message from Deep Space'.

The best edutainment game I've ever played

An excellent game about constructing a shared language from scratch. Remarkably un-frustrating given the complexity of what it's trying to do.
