About
The Message from Deep Space is an odyssey of puzzles. Take the role of the mission's Translator, working alongside a scrappy band of scientists, and venture headfirst into the world of deciphering an alien language --- completely from the ground up.
Set in 1973, Earth is the recipient of a meteorite that broadcasts radio waves. In the role of the mission's Translator, the player is responsible for designing responses to the meteorite's transmissions, which, if correct, will elicit new messages from the meteorite. Only through this radio wave dialogue will patterns, words, syntax, and meaning all take form, leaving but one question:
What is it the aliens want to say?
Translate an alien language
Learn about an alien civilization
Interface with a retro computer
Manage a user-driven dictionary
Design radio transmissions by frequency
Collaborate with scientists that respond to your actions
+1000 in-game dialogues
+30 minutes OST
+30 hours of gameplay
Inspired by The Golden Record aboard the Voyager I space probe, The Message from Deep Space takes a realistic approach to deciphering an interstellar message. Beginning with the limited universal constants available to technologically advanced civilizations, the message spans a range of real-world fields of math & science. Decoding the message is tough, but with the support of the game's meticulous linguist, the single-minded computer programmer, and the affable astronomer, it is a challenge fit for anyone with Curiosity and Perseverance.

oh my god
Really scratches my puzzle itch in a unique way. The math, science, and coding are integrated into the puzzle solving in an enjoyable way that is not at all contrived. It's not a sandbox Zach-like, but it pushes the same buttons for me. Highly recommended.
AMAZE! AMAZE! AMAZE! 100 transmissions in, and this is the best puzzle game I ever played! My first impression was that this will be something like Voices of The Void, but the more I play, the more wrong I am. To be honest, it's maybe similar to Project Hail Mary than anything)) Game-play: unique, probably one of a kind, and really interesting if you're into mind-puzzles and math. Music: cherry on top (square cube law is BANGER <3 ) Story: so far so good, keeps warm and cozy atmosphere with team members logs.
I can already tell this game is brilliant
This feels like a landmark game, what The Roottrees are Dead did for corkboard deduction games, this will do for translation games. The puzzling and the storytelling weave together wonderfully, and what really makes it click is that it really feels like you're building the whole thing, piece by piece, and all the insights and revelations flow from what you've built. It's really able to look clear-eyed at the material realities of the universe and the challenges of communicating with completely alien life, but it's also really optimistic about the whole thing and that really helped carry me through. It feels like something really valuable in the moment we're all living in.
This game is so incredibly fire. I love STEM so much and having a translation game dedicated to it is so so so great. I really love all kinds of translation games and this one is my favorite. If you like languages and STEM, get this game. It's the best. Also the story is super good; all the characters are really fun and the aliens are great too. Honestly $10 for this is a steal.
Makes me feel so so stupid 10/10
now this is video games ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
My play hours are in a separate family account and NOT on deck. I'm 10 hours in and this is a peak puzzle game to me. Obra Dinn and Golden Idol are my favorite games in this genre, and this has a chance to land at that level.
