The Mermaid Mask

It's just like Tangle Tower! Which is the best! Lovely character art and animation, fantastic voice acting, brilliant writing. A complex, dramatic story unfolds piece by piece. If you haven't played Tangle Tower, I'd say the Detective Grimoire games are less investigation-heavy than Obra Dinn or Type Help or Roottrees. There is still a good amount of investigation but the way it's set up, you can never get stuck. It's streamlined. There are random puzzles thrown in to give you more of a logic challenge. I loved these, but they are not strongly tied to the game. Altogether, the SFB games are wonderfully crafted and presented but not challenging. I played them with my kids and they are huge fans!

Tangle Tower already amazing, this is even better. If you've played the first one and enjoyed it you don't need to hear any more than that... If you're new to the series, this is one of the best mystery games out there. Can be played as a standalone. Incredible voice cast and artwork, compelling mystery that will keep you guessing and always having a fantastic time. Not to mention it's funny and has a wonderful atmosphere! Just play it!!!!

Lovely lovely game!! was instantly drawn into Tangled Tower and I'm glad this game had the exact same affect. Loved the cast of characters, the mystery was very well done, and I had a blast looking through the art book at the end of the game. Beautiful work!

I'm awed at the sheer amount of high-quality writing packed into The Mermaid Mask. Why yes, it would be my pleasure to examine every item on this shelf, as well as the shelving itself, the floor below, and the wall behind it. After that, I will corner the ship's captain to demand thoughts, jokes, and stories regarding all 50 clues in my inventory. That's what I live for. You're telling me that the writing is also accompanied by superb voice acting and animation? Wow! Otherwise: Mermaid's Mask is focused on keeping a good pace. The "puzzle" puzzles are neat and straightforward. There is a robust hint system in place that will have characters give feedback on partially incorrect deductions, and there's an explicit hint system available in the game options. In other words, the game isn't hard. You can set the dialogue to auto-play, breeze through the puzzles, and still have a great time with the mystery itself.
