Nina Aquila: Legal Eagle, Season One

Honestly, as a huge Ace Attorney fan, this was pretty disappointing. I wasn't expecting much, but from a game with over 90% positive reviews it should hold my attention throughout all of its small playitme. However, after finishing 2 of 3 cases, where the 1st is such a rote tutorial case that it basically doesn't count as a full case, I just couldn't muster up the enthusiasm to play the final case. This has many reasons: the writing isn't all that good, the Exploration sections can be frustrating, because you have to follow specific actions to advance the plot, and the aesthetic of the game is just a tad too anime. But the main reason is that the core idea, making an Ace Attorney game in RPG Maker, doesn't work very well. This game uses alot of stock RPG Maker assets, and this makes the whole game feel very cheap, but it is especially noteworthy during the trial sections. Usually in an Ace Attorney game, the trials are the highlight of the game, but here the lack of detailed emotions and a clunky interface make the whole experience feel a lot worse than other Ace Attorney clones. That said, this game is clearly made with love and the majority of people enjoy it. However, if a game this short, that I really wanted to like, ends up making me quit before finishing it, deserves to be rated negatively.

HEY KID! Do you like anime? Ace Attorney? MtG/YuGiOh/PokemonTCG/TCGs in general? Racing anime? Overarching plot? Cute, plus-sized women? THEN LOOK NO FURTHER THAN NINA AQUILA! Give this game a chance, it's a fun time!

If you are looking for a good ace attorney game, look elsewhere. This game is more anime references and minigames than ace attorney. The court cases aren't flesh out much, and the dialogues jumps in tone based on whether the sentence contains necessary information, or just fluff. And there are just too many unnecessary fluff.

NALE is a downright incredible game, the story is great and i'm longing for more. The world-building reminds me slightly of Scott Pilgrim, with characters dropping random lore tidbits in the middle of conversation, it knows how to take it seriously when it needs to and have some silly moments along the way. Certainly a must play if you like Ace Attorney, Anime or detective games in general. It even has some incredible disability support that can be a blessing for the more able-bodied players. In summary, Nina Aquila: Legal Eagle gets a solid 8/10 from me. (also the dev is a nice guy you should join the discord)

This game is really good and I highly recommend it! If you like Ace Attorney and games like it, you'll like this. This game has a unique style and game play while referencing many other games.

Nina Aquila Legal Eagle is a courtroom drama very much inspired by Ace Attorney series but I feel it can really stand up to any Ace Attorney game. Characters are likeable and play off of each other really well. Each epiode is an homage and parody of an anime genre and that adds flavour to each case. Episode 2 and 3 also feature a minigame connected to the case's plot that shows up during the investigations. Episode 2 has a card game and episode 3 has a street racing. Nina is requried to take part on these games to progress through the story and uncover new information during her investigation. I feel this spices up the investigation parts and makes them more enjoyable. The story is good and while each case has its own plot, there is an overarching plot we're uncovering episode by episode. I recommend this game to any Ace Attorney and anime fan out there.

Great series, if you want another Ace Attorney type game play this one, you won't regret it.

I can't really recommend it. While the first episode is charming and I did get a bit invested into the plot, I quickly realised the game is way too overly anime and relies a bit too much on "reference humour" to my taste.

This is hard straight "yes or no" choice. Its basically Phoenix Wright (with all of its weirdness) if there was no budget. Its fun, for a bit, and has all the good and bad of a solo dev bring. The most annoying part is its an incomplete game. not like early access incomplete but EA level bull sh*t. Its constantly building up the story and then just ends and wants you to pay almost full price for the next chapter. No. don`t give me greedy corporate ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, just sell the whole game together. Either get on sale or with how solo dev games go wait another 10-20 years for them to maybe finish and get everything at once. It`s fun, but drags on and just leaves you disappointed
