I absolutly love this game. The plot twist got me and my sister. I'll just say I love it again :'D
Absolutely fantastic sequel to Tangled Tower. What a fantastic cast of characters and such beautiful locations. Also really really funny Lots of really fun puzzle designs, only one gave a big issue but I was thinking about it in a different way. Overall highly recommend to anyone wanting a nice relaxing puzzle game with great characters and a fantastic story
Highly recommend this game especially for players who love a good old who-dunnit detective puzzle games. It was very easy to pick up and play - very charming game with beautiful artwork, amazing voice acting, and unique characters. Also love how they expanded further on the Detective Grimoire universe through this entry in the series. The story was very captivating with its mysteries and supernatural elements - it left me with some lingering questions by the end which left a deeper impression of this game for me. Especially with the third act which kept me hooked till the very end. The atmosphere was great and dare I say - the characters of this story felt more memorable than Tangle Tower's to me. The puzzles were fun and in my opinion, beginner friendly - as someone who doesn't play that many puzzle games. My only criticisms of this game is that you can't save your progress to different save files which can save time going through all the dialogue if you want to re-do a certain parts or go back to a certain chapter. Or in my case, getting all the achievements.... There were also times when I was looking through evidence that the song from the evidence menu kind of clashes and bleeds in with the theme song of the rooms you're in. Overall, enjoyed this game and hope the studio will keep making more of Detective Grimoire and Sally - I hope this isn't the last entry in the series.
Love the animation style and character design! The puzzles are fun and a good mixture of easier and harder to figure out. The voice acting is phenomenal! There are a lot of clues and a lot of dialogue options that come along with asking each suspect about all the clues but it made figuring out the story just the right amount of challenging. Absolutely recommend if you're looking for a chill puzzle/mystery game and appreciate the hard work of actual humans. This is art!!
I really enjoyed tangle tower and was eagerly anticipating this one. And it was worth the wait and delays - the mystery was engaging and I really wanted to know what was up with everyone at each point of the game. And the denouement was incredibly satisfying, I loved that moment just before where the evidence finally came together and I realised 'right it's THAT person, it couldn't be anyone else.' But what made that moment particularly good was how interesting and unique all the characters was, they all had depth and their own stories, so it was never super obvious (up until it was meant to be) exactly who the culprit would be. Y'know, the way a good mystery story is meant to be written. And the voice acting was great, the cast really added to everyone's personalities so well. I adored playing this and would highly recommend it to anyone hoping to sit down for a few hours with a good mystery.
제작진이 잠수함에 갇혀서 후속편을 계속 만들어주셨으면 좋겠음
As someone that played the series all the way back when it started as a flash game on newgrounds, I was thrilled to see it make a return once more. (especially when I noticed it had been on my wishlist for several years, there were times I feared it had been forgotten.) And what a triumphant return it is, the voice work is immaculate, the music manages to recapture the enchanting feel from the previous title while adding in new elements that perfectly get you into the mood and understanding of this new cast of characters. Character dialogue is serious and forboding, but also just silly and incredulous enough to keep the tension and pressure from mounting to great to early. Speaking of the cast, without being spoilery, everyone is SO compelling, even with the brief snippets we get of some, SYM is a little angel bless her soul, and Cornelius is a gentleman and a scholar. The writers and the artists and the modellers, EVERYONE did such a good job of telling such a rich story about these people on this ship, the history of the place and how they all came to be where they are. The story is kept rather tight, with a mostly sandbox approach where you freely look into what you wish in any order. The plot progresses pretty logically and there are only 1 or 2 nagging plot points that bug me, with many others side tangents being gratefully welcomed as world building. Espeically grateful are the several moments where the player is allowed to input their interpetation of the meaning or intent of an event or symbol. Indeed, while I'm sure many people would praise a game for keeping such tight focus, as a longtime fan I am left wishing there had been a little more, especially in regard to the dual protaganists of Grimoire and Sally, while they comment on things throughout the game, and even make references to past installments and characters, I can't help but feel frustrated with how little they have to say to each other, ABOUT each other. We are given such comprehensive looks into the childhoods, past lives, and motivations of the suspects yet the player is given disquieting little information about the characters they play as, what are their motivations? How did they get here? What is their living arangements like? Is is becoming a long running issue as Tangle tower had a simlar issue of just dropping the protaganists into the mystery with little fanfare or explanation of who these protaganists are. This game is wonderful and cannot be recommended and praised enough, but as a series I find it disconcerting how little a glimpse we get into the titular Grimoire outside of offhanded remarks and easter egg callbacks.
Good game, good buy, good play. GO BUY IT.
I've always loved how this series blends the supernatural with a mundane murder case into a neat little story. At first, you can't really see how these elements fit together, but the more you play, the more seamlessly everything mixes. The art style holds up incredibly well from the last game, and the cast is both likable and fun to interact with. Plus, there are no depictions of violence, making it a cozy detective game that everyone can enjoy!
