Originally played Tangle Tower ages ago and have been waiting for this game for ages and it did not disappoint. Great story, clever puzzles with such a fun and zany cast of characters who were all excellently voice acted. The dialogue is so well written and combined with the writing and story, they had me lapping up and obsessing over every single detail. They also improved on the already excellent gameplay of how they handled deductions and investigation from Tangle Tower. Also great vibes all around managing to strike a perfect balance of creepy and just straight up funny. Really hope they continue with this series and give us another game.

Fun whodunnit

Okay, look, my memory is bad. But I have a really good feel for...how I felt about stuff about what I've experienced in the past. And, thinking about the previous game that the devs made (Tangle Tower), I remember a very strong feeling of "this voice actor is awesome I need more", so I had wishlisted this upcoming game years ago. Stayed there forever, and it finally came out, and I bought it day one, which I kinda NEVER do. Being on sale was a plus, but did not register in my head as a qualification for buying. Anyway, game releases. I played. The voice actor I longed for (Amber Lee Connors voicing Sally) delivered. I never skipped a single line. I dunno...certain female voices in various media are just great to me. Examples: Poppy in Mythic Quest (Charlotte Nicdao, Apple TV), lead singer for the Cardigans (Nina Persson), Bird and the Bee singer (Inara George), to name a paltry few. Pretty sure I can just listen to any of 'em read grocery lists, and I'd be good with that. Same thing with this particular voice actor. ...but is the game good? Yeah, it's good. Again, my memory is completely shot, so I'd probably be able to do a new playthrough with Tangle Tower like I've never played it before (apparently in 2022?) But the game is...look, it's fine. There are a bunch of voice actors in the game, and everyone is absolutely wonderful, and I didn't skip any voice-acted lines at all. So yeah, the game is very clear cut: do your investigation, and solve the puzzles that come along with 'em. There was only one puzzle that stumped me for a day, after which I slapped myself and completed it. Nice story, and I think if I remembered what happened in the previous Tangle Tower game, I would've gotten slightly more out of the ending...but the ending's fine, regardless. Anyway, if you haven't played Tangle Tower, play that. And if you liked that, play this game, because it's more of the same. The humor is the draw for the game, as with the previous game...the back-and-forth between the main detective Grimoire and Sally is great.
