Every market we collect.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.57/day in the week to Sep 7 → 3.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian is a narrative role-playing game telling the story of a cruel world, where lawbreaking is met with severe punishment, and a crown prince must decide the destiny of the land. Whether you rule maintaining the old order, or create a new future is up to you.
In the Great Arknian Empire, everyone’s life is determined by their birth. Such is the ultimate law laid down by the Twins, stern gods who divided society into Lots. The clergy shows people the right path, the nobles rule, and the commoners’ Lot is working and suffering in obedience. Your fate, however, is very different: to be the chosen of the gods, become their tool, and govern the entire nation.
You, Prince Jerian of the Tempest, must embark on a lifelong journey: starting as a child unaware of his destiny, and becoming an emperor for whose role you have been preparing since birth. As a crown prince, you will have to understand your country and its culture, but also make difficult choices affecting the fragile balance of powers in the Empire, and yourself.
Developed by the creators of The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante, the events of this new game take place in the same universe, but tell a completely different story. While The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian inherits existing gameplay features, it also contains new mechanics reflecting the protagonist’s role and traits.

As a future ruler, you must learn the current state of the Empire. The treasury is running dry as the estates rise one against another, fighting for their interests. The church withers and sows hatred among the people, noble houses aspire to keep the old traditions, and commoners demand equal rights with the nobility. Pay attention to these circumstances and decide the country’s path while chasing your own goals.

The time will come, and the Emperor’s scepter will lie in your hands, but you feel its weight even now. You have to act immediately: you are the only one able to change the course of history, to unite or shatter the country. Make difficult choices that affect the nation and you alike. Promises given to yourself might become your most unbearable burden. Every decision brings consequences, and your mistakes will be paid for by the entire Empire.

You were given power by birth, but the cost of such majesty is your own ambition. You are shackled not only by the outside world and its circumstances, but also by your soul. Thinking of who you are, who you want to be, and who the Empire wants to see in you, such is your lot. Making a choice of your own requires a sacrifice. Following the political situation and your family’s demands might drive you mad. Will you save yourself or allow your soul to shatter into pieces?

Be careful in choosing your allies: those who you keep close will shape your character and affect your decisions. Your family, your subjects, nobles and commoners alike, every single one wants your attention and patronage. Help one, and you will lose the support of another. Whether you succeed in maintaining the fragile balance of the Empire or let it all burn down in civil war will be decided by you.

Not only are you the crown prince, but also the Primate, who connects the worlds of the living and the divine. You and your family of the Tempest are the keepers of the Pact, a “testament” between the Twins and those who live by their will. Can it be changed without dooming the world? You will find the answer yourself.

The power that you possess is not an end, but a means. You are destined to save the world entrusted to you by your ancestors and gods. What future awaits the New Empire, and who will benefit? Whose sufferings will end, and whose will begin? Only time will tell.

The game is generally great, if somewhat creepy (not in the "ew, you're a creep" sense, in the horror-y sense). It has some replayability with taking different paths, its approach to attributes is interesting, and you do feel both influential and constrained. However, there is a plot problem, which may be intentional given the general thrust, but I hope not. It appears that
the only way to get decent results on Arknian non-immunity is to be allied with Orgrif; and that vote happens right after On Religion vote, where voting for anything except Old Faith dogma strongly spoils your relationship. This means, in effect, that you cannot, or almost cannot, get a decent position in the creed on both issues.
Though I might just be ham-fisted as usual.

Эту игру невозможно не сравнивать с предшественницей, "Life and Suffering of Sir Brante", поэтому я даже пытаться не буду этого избегать.

A long awaited sequel to Sir Brante, that is simultaneously a huge achievement in innovation for the genre, while also double down on the critical flaws of the previous game. It is a very high brow sort of game, with strong literary merit, that has succumbed to the simple mistake of being overly long for its format and having artificially elongated writing that reflects this. Ultimately, my game ended pre-maturely with a tragic suicide and narratively, it was better for it. I really enjoyed the first game and while all the ingredients of this one are of surely, a better quality, the fidelity of the art and the music, art direction and initial formulae of storytelling all constitutes something objectively better... it is simply just not as good as it could be. The game, with all of its systems and mechanics, is simply too ambitious to fully render completely true to its intended potential. It is an undertaking that really requires such an immense amount of writing, that it is just impossible without an AAA level of writing and funding, but what we get instead is a mere emulation, a simulation of what the concept could be. But I cannot possibly begin to hate the game in anyway, it is very cool, very good and certainly, more enjoyable as a single playthrough compared to Brant's shorter length that preferred at least two or three. Ultimately, the biggest issue is the length and the pacing of it. Due to the length and density of the events packed into a single handful of years, everything loses its aura and impact. Ultimately, the game is unintentionally frustrating and at times, sauceless despite its inherit soul. The game would succeed greatly by having more variety in choices with more narrative impacts, rather than be as long as it is. The game can feel agonizingly slow and agonizingly brief at the same time. The writing has either been elongated from more minimalist styles or overly summarized from purple prose, regardless, it lacks a lot of weight and impact and artistic integrity in compromise to be more readable and accessible. As a result, you get a lot of brief summaries of significant choices in a matter of simple sentences with bluntness lacking any character. And in other occurrences, near meaningless interactions are overly long with characters acting as speaking avatars for their ideologies and unlike the first game, everyone feels like an unrepentant idealogue rather than an ideologically driven character. It is a shame because the setting of Arkanians, is incredibly rich and arguably, the best parts of the first game were your brief, second hand and parallel adventures and mishaps with Arkanians and the society they ruled. Unfortunately, removing the layers of mystery and intrigue and actually playing as an Arkanian completely diminishes what made them effective. Personally, I really excepted more because the noble, aristocratic, emperor-ruling set up is absolutely brilliant. Even Lenin admired the works of Chekhov despite hating and literally murdering the aristocratic class of oligarchic hedonists that often so populated the casts and settings of his works, as was the case with virtually all form of Russian high art that managed to survive the two revolutions. I, too, cannot help but find stories regarding the old world nobility and the Bonapartist characteristics of so many of its warrior houses and generals, to be spectacularly interesting ways to explore big personalities and characters that simply are not possible with the more common proletarian, ordinary class of denizens that populate modern nations. At the same time, I abhor the immorally rich and those born of bloodright who mindlessly drain their nations' coffers and hold onto archaic, dogmatic religious institutions and military traditions that effectively keep the nation in permanent stagnation. The game certainly allowed me to play with this borderline-nazbol experience of trying to turn the Blessed Arkanian Empire into a secular, materialist nation but with a more populist driven intranationalism. Sadly, the game's writing certainly does well to write the nuance that exists between the mechanics but the mechanics, ultimately, do not. And as a result, everything gets dummied down into left vs right rhetoric. More accurately, the Eastern European origins of the developers shows more appropriately in how a nation is less dictated by left wing and right wing as much as modern, conventional, post Cold War politics want to make us believe. In reality, the fundamental political struggle of the Bonapartist, pre-fascism and pre-communist era is actually "The Cops vs The Dorks". And a third position that manages to actually consolidate the best attributes of both the Cops and the Dorks, would be a superpower. Unfortunately, the Blessed Arkanian Empire is much like the late Russian Empire, a nation capable of immense progress but instead, is far more interested in colonizing itself. The Arkanian Empire is less a Rome parallel and more a Russian Empire one, a nation that truly, has long established a role of nobility that rivals the longevity of even the Japanese heirdom, and yet, one that is so completely and utterly byzantine in how disconnectedly dissonant and effortlessly factionalist the nation is, despite being an Absolute-Power Monarchy with some proto-Social Democracy (aka Woke Colonialism) for good measure. And despite being able to explore the lives and events of some past ancestors of the Arkanian's Tempest royal family, seeing clear parallels to the fall of the Roman Republic and the rise and fall of the Roman Empire, it is still very so blatantly clear that the Arkanians suffer from a classic case of Russian Revolutionary Self-Defeatism more than anything else. The progressivists hate you even for being progressive, detering rebellion will randomly have it grow anyways for the very reasons you championed for prior in appeasement to the parties, the conservatives want to conserve nothing but their own status quo and even when you solidify everyone's gainless, self serving positions, they hate you for not predicting they want more when there is nothing left to ask for. The game is not a political roleplay game, it is sadly a numbers game, of balancing numbers and bars with some nuanced, high brow writing around these decisions, but ultimately, much like every game in this genre that tries to be more than it is, a game of numbers, Prince Jerian is sadly about trying to balance dissonant things, acting our of character and out of your will and desire for a certain path, to make numbers go up and down. In the end, every artistic bit of writing is invalidated by invisible triggers and single digit variables. This gross over simplification is necessary to actually release a game that can function, but ultimately the long length of the game serves to try and hide the fact that it really is "number goes up and down", and all of its extremely cool and innovating mechanics that amplify the immersion of experience, are ultimately, still, at their core, the game mechanic equivalent of boiling water. It all comes back down to number goes up, number goes down. Number less than x means y, number greater than x equals y. In the end, the outcome is some variant of y, but the "flavour" of x changes more than the question itself. The plot and writing does not solve for x or why, it merely is a whiteboard for the equation, trying to throw you off from the fact everything really is just simple math with random factors thrown in. Its a shame because they are cooking with things that most games and gamers are not literate enough to comprehend. Actually balancing one's secular or spiritual life or understanding of religion with presenting it as Law and Legalism and Dogma vs Love, Passion, Progress, fundamentally shows a theological understanding of Christianity and its causes of many reform movements like Jan Hus and Martin Luther, far greater than most theologians could.
