The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel

So funny story, this is the second time I have purchased Trails of Cold Steel. I bought it back when I was in college and never finished it. A few years later, I picked it back up then steamrolled through 1-4. Another few years later, I am feeling a deep longing to go back to these games. In a blink of an eye, 4 hours passed and I am loving every single moment. I will say, your first time through can feel very slow. The first time I even played this game, I stopped halfway through because I had lost interest. However, now I am playing it a second time, I am making sure to do everything side quest and talk to every NPC to engross myself in the world. If you like Persona, JRPGs, or just a great story, this is the game for you. BIG DISCLAIMER _____________ As I already said, this series is 10x the dialogue and world building which can lead to the game feeling slower. Let it ride. Also, jump on the ride and let the game tell it's story, I promise you if you love the type of games I previously mentioned, I have a strong feeling you will love the Trails series as well. From it's characters, combat, storyline, and the sheer amount of lore that stems from the other titles, you have plenty to immerse yourself in. Stay groovy o7 - Da Professa

This is the sixth game in an ongoing series. Although this is arguably the second best entry point to the trails games after Sky FC I still highly recommend you play that first and follow the series in this order Trails in the Sky FC (Or the 1st remaster coming out soon I guess? I'd still say FC though) Trails in the Sky SC Trails in the Sky Third Trails from Zero Trails to Azure Trails in Cold Steel Zero and Azure in particular provide a LOT of context for events that might seem otherwise confusing in this game. Still, if you wanna play this first do so. You can always go back, just be aware that it will spoil Zero and Azure and possibly a few parts of the Sky trilogy. As for the game itself, it's great. Possibly one of my favourites so far, the cast is great, the political drama is even better. Having played Azure and Sky Third that set this arc up before hand let some of these moments hit harder than I had expected. Very solid game.

Great JRPG with fun combat and characters Trails of Cold Steel has a great story, strong world-building, and a cast you really get attached to. The combat is fun, and the social system adds a nice touch. It runs well on Steam Deck too! I just wish there was more voice acting—some dialogue can drag. Still, a great journey worth playing.

第一部通关了，简单说下感想吧。 我接触轨迹首先是歌吧，空轨3rd的《cry for me,cry for you》，fc的阳光下的猫都是我很喜欢的曲子，零碧轨和闪轨也有我挺喜欢的曲子，闪轨1的op每天打开游戏我都会听完，ed配合剧情挺燃的我感觉也不错。 然后是大量的npc，我很少玩rpg，所以我不知道轨迹这种npc之间大量交互和发展的世界观多不多，但至少轨迹的npc和世界观我挺喜欢的，闪轨1的话我最喜欢的还是贝琪那组，欢喜冤家永不过时了属于是。 这一作因为采用了3d，所以地图体感大了不少，不过钓鱼槽点太多了，，，最后干脆放弃了这个成就。 剧情的话，特别实习的确挺有意思的，一方面尽可能介绍了七班的角色，一方面也铺设了帝国的背景，而且也很有学生氛围。 听说闪2评价很垃圾，待我休整一下去试试看。
