Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Sep 3 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

it takes a lot to trick me with a plot twist, but when the villain's true identity was revealed I was just as shocked as rean. Excellent world building, outstanding gameplay, just an overall 9/10 tutorial that happens to be the size of an entire game. I highly recommend trails of cold steel to anyone willing to experience the world's longest prologue!!! Also instructor sara is my ideal woman.
Harem? Checked (I hate Harem btw) Stupid Military School Anime with broken MC and annoying Female MC? Checked Overpowered MC? Checked Unnecessary cringy scenes? Checked Persona, mostly Persona 3, inspiration? Checked Moe-Moe Kyun? Checked. Great Game. Time for NG+.
If you loved Trails in the Sky and Zero/Azure for their storytelling and characters, you may be in for a major disappointment.
Quite honestly, this game is, in my opinion, the point where the Trails series took a major dip in quality that it never really recovered from. Cold Steel IV and Reverie are kinda good, but beyond that, the series became kinda mediocre. I'll start with the gameplay. It's okay, I guess? Bond Links aren't a bad system (I started with the Sky remake, so there wasn't much of an adjustment period), and the characters all feel unique. But beyond that, they butchered orbments. Now there are stats quartz and arts quartz, and they're completely independent of one another. If you want a strong mirage art, you put the strong mirage art quartz in and don't think about it ever again. Also, you can stack stats quartz now. Kinda a weird decision, but i don't really have any complaints, just wanted to bring it up. But the place where I really dislike this game is in it's story and writing. To start with the good, the worldbuilding is still stellar. This is one part of Trails that never really wavers in quality, and it's always a treat to see how the world expands. But the characters. Lord, the characters. Class VII is just... so unappealing. They're colorful, but compared to the SSS or the Liberl crew, I couldn't find myself falling in love with them. Plus, the introduce so, so many characters, and none of them get a satisfying arc. Some of them have stories, sure, but they don't feel executed well. And the writing in general is kinda just bad. Characters feel more gimmicky than before. Also, the starting scene actually had the worst first impression of any Trails game and lets you know exactly what you're in for. I've seen people read into it and talk about how it isn't that bad, but no. It's that bad. The "unique" traits I've seen people say Rean displays appear in so many other series. On that topic, Rean. Lord, I hate him as an MC. As a character, he's alright, but as an MC, he sucks. It feels like he's a character vortex, sucking in all the characters so that they're forced to always be around him if they want to develop with a singular exception (Laura and Fie's relationship). This continues throughout the series, and it sucks. That's all I had to say. The rest of Erebonia is better than this game imo, and it's still worth pushing through, but I just don't like it, man.
I will say it was fun enough to recommend positively but not totally. The game was very slow paced so be prepared for reading and listening to cutscenes maybe more then the average. The combat was fine but bosses are a mixed bag some are very easy others will ask you to either grind or engage with the battle system more than just spamming attacks like every normal encounter. Set expectations, if you want story consider easy if you want tough combat turn up the difficulty anyway you go be prepared for a long game.
A great 6th entry to the series. Was a blast seeing the events unfold in parallel in Erebonia, compared to what is seen in the last game (Azure) on the Crossbell side. Would still recommend playing this as the 6th entry as opposed to starting from this point...
