HUGE graphics improvement from the previous CS1 and CS2. Many QoL improvements. Sub-master quartz slot helps a LOT to customize each character's builds and play the way you want!

The first two games in the series are excellent in their story-telling, characters and gameplay, with a nice mystery that concludes itself. Part three picks up a few years later and starts a new story thread, with a set of new characters and all of the old ones returning. There is definitely character bloat, too many to manage and needlessly long cut scenes, where all people have to have some dialogue in each scene to remind you that they are still there. It's still a fun experience, but i didnt like it as much as the first two games
Just no… It’s more of the same, but with an even weaker story. I’ve completely lost my patience with this series. There are too many characters, and none of the main enemies ever actually die. They just teleport away, and you fight them again later. It’s the same cycle over and over. The story feels pointless — you could cut out 80% of it and barely anything would change. There’s way too much dialogue that goes nowhere. I couldn’t take it anymore. Even in the earlier games, I skipped some of the conversations because they dragged on, and now I regret buying the rest of the series since I can’t refund them. Maybe I’ll come back to this one after a long break, once I’ve cooled off a bit. For now, Trails in the Sky 3rd and Trails from Zero/Azure are still the better entries, though honestly, they’re mediocre at best. At least the main characters there weren’t as annoying. EDIT: I finally managed to finish it after taking a long break. It’s just as bad as I expected — the same formula as the first two games. You fight tough boss battles, but then the story forces you to lose because “the plot demands it.” It’s a frustrating formula where friendship always saves the day, and none of the major characters or villains ever actually die. They either come back to life or escape to fight another day. I skipped all dialogue and cutscenes on final chapter as I just stopped giving even a smallest ♥♥♥♥, just more of same story that goes nowhere. Better to finish it and never touch it again. I AM DONE. I will not touch another trails game ever again.
Sebetulnya direkomendasikan untuk main yg 1 dan 2 namun karena series sebelumnya mungkin dianggap "Terlalu tua", Series ke 3 ini adalah yang lebih modern dan merupakan pinntu masuk ke seri ini
The good: combat, cards minigame. The breaking/enhanced mechanics really help take out some of the randomness of the previous games where you'd get one-hit KO'd by a boss's S-Craft. The bad: pacing. They managed to somehow stretch a similar progression to Trails of Cold Steel I by 50%.
