maldito jogo me fez desitratar com o final Que jogo maravilhoso, que incrível cast novo, e que ótimas resoluções pra antigas pontas soltas
Trails from Zero is one of my favorite games of all time, and I do strongly recommend it. I'm giving a negative review for THIS release based on principle - nearly every visual in the game has unnecessary and sloppy AI upscaling. It would be acceptable AI was just used here and there to touch up a few textures, but from what I could tell, everything except character sprites has been affected. Textures with small details are completely botched, and larger textures have all details smoothed over. This has resulted in a botched version of Crossbell that looks nothing like the original. All baked-in text in the menus are upscaled for some god forsaken reason instead of just having new high resolution text. Everything is readable, but looks extremely sloppy and off-putting. Images in newspapers are also completely Indiscernible and are just objectively worse in every way, even if you think the other textures are acceptable. I hate that this is the most feature complete version of the game, making it hard to genuinely recommend any other version instead. The best version is probably the old PC Geofront patch, but that's such a pain to set up that you're probably better off getting this version and modding in Vita textures manually. I ended up modding in the old textures myself, which did fix most of these issues, but having to do that at all is an issue. We should've had the option to choose "Classic" or "Upscaled" textures. Taking all of that aside, the game itself is amazing, and I'd give it a 10/10. Great characters, satisfying combat (if a bit too easy), engaging narritive, and deep worldbuilding. To me at least, this game and its sequel are the pinnacle of the JRPG genre. Such a shame that this port was ruined by such lazy, unnecessary "work" with the garbage AI upscaling.

Absolutely a delight. What a great improvement from the Sky trilogy, and I'm still super excited to continue the Trails saga! Starting... from Zero!! This is the DEFINITIVE version of the old Trails artstyle and mechanics, was not disappointed in the slightest with the changes, and everything works so well and fits so naturally with the narrative! Perfect implementation! While I do think that Zero's cast had a little bit inferior characterization when compared to Sky's IMMACULATE characters (ESTELLE THE GOOAT), I was not by any means disappointed with moving on from Sky, and my worries were absolutely dissuaded! I particularly LOVED Tio Plato, Wazy Hemisphere, and
KeA! (OH MY GOD SHE'S SO CUTEE)
Super happy we didn't JUST completely move on from the story told in the Sky trilogy and we're building up from it and continuing where we left off. It was another worry I had, and seeing a few characters in particular who got their own time in the sun to progress their subplot gave me so many emotions and relief. I love how much care Falcom puts into their characters and their story to pay SO much attention! In fact, I enjoyed this plotline a LOT more than Sky's actually! I really loved Sky's story, but Crossbell has a MUCH more interesting concept that, while trope-y, is executed masterfully! I do think of course since they need less time spent towards exposition given you're expected to have played the Sky trilogy before Crossbell, they were able to spend more time on a much more interesting plot as a result. Despite that I do think they tried to introduce us to a lot more characters and concepts going on in the background, that definitely broadens the scope of the world and truly shows how deep the worldbuilding of this series can go! I also loved how much more concise this felt despite having similar playtimes! Unlike the prior games, Zero felt like there wasn't much downtime at all or periods where I felt un-immersed or like it was dragging on, it was paced fantastically! Also, I cannot trust these NPCs of a certain archetype anymore. 😂 All in all, a worthy revival and change of pace to make a statement about the future of subsequent Trails arcs. 8/10! Can't wait to overcome some more barriers and challenges starting from Zero. 😂❤️
to me, this is the weakest of the trails games so far, but it's still really really good. I just really appreciate them dedicating an entire game to
saying that the most evil thing you could possibly do is hurt a child
ITS. SO. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PEAK. Took me so long to finish this masterpiece of a game. I'm so glad I finally did it though, god this game is just absolutely amazing. The characters, the story, the gameplay, God I legitimately can't find a single fault with this game. STORY - INCREDIBLE. You're taken to a world that is jam-packed full of lore and things you just can't wait to figure out. NPCs are fully fleshed, side quests also feel right at home and natural, very embedded into this world. It's very slice of life until its not, so if that's your thing (like me) you'll feel absolutely right at home. As with the other trails games I've played, there is a clicheness to the story, with the scene tropes and all, but I absolutely adore it. CHARACTERS - ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. I cannot emphasize how much I love these characters. All of them are given their own story chapters and opportunities to show off their unique story and nature, and I absolutely loved every single moment of them. All of them are just absolutely perfect, and just makes the story hit even harder. Each moment of happiness and grief they feel just absolutely pull your heartstrings, just perfect. GAMEPLAY - Amazing. A turn-based JRPG system melded so well that it feels like action. Positioning matters (although less than the other newer games for obvious reasons, just made it better and better), playing with the skills and quartzes is so much fun, love the stat and character building, and the crafts are great. I did find myself overrelying on the "ults" though, which just might be me playing the game wrong. MUSIC - Just perfect. I listen to the ost at work on repeat. Absolute masterpieces. I will say though, I might recommend playing trails in the sky 2nd & 3rd chapter first before this (I am assuming you, like me, played this after the absolute gem that is trails in the sky 1st chapter remastered). I specifically held off on playing them due to their remasters coming up as I am writing this, but there are a lot of references (and spoilers!) of what happens in those two games. I would say, with my limited knowledge of what happens in those 2 games, that the spoilers are quite negligible, but I do wish I had known about the background of some referenced characters before the end. This game definitely can stand on its own two feet no problem though. Overall, its just an absolutely perfect game, and it fully reignited my love for the trails series. If there's anything you take away from this review, I hope it is to give this series a go. You won't regret it. I will go and play trails from azure now goodbye see you on that review キーア is my ball of sunshine I love her so much I love エリー & ワジmilove
Such a great game, Trails as a franchise is a gem, I said the same for Trails in the Sky the 3rd, but from Zero is a masterpice, and I just love how it incorporates all the elements that we were already familiar with and makes it better. I love that early 2010's vibes from the drawings, really picturing the upgrading, the UI is so much better as well, and the music always works of art, can't except less from these genius from Falcom! Not to spoil, but I also love that very Dark occultists, esoteric vibes from the ennemies, that we already had in the 3rd. Also I really appreciate the hardwork put on the worldbuilding, it was already the case in the last opus, but in From Zero we see how complex, well-documented and explained the politic, economic and the justice system works in Crossbell, the formalities etc are very well done, which improves the immersion. I give it a 10/10!!!
Some things you should know: 1) Yes, you HAVE to play Trails in the Sky 1 through 3 before playing this. Plot points in this game rely on info from those games. 2) The game has JP voices and English text (this is how it should be). 3) Yes, it has a really slow start as a new cast of characters is introduced, but, just like Trails in the Sky, they will grow on you as the game goes on. 4) This game is awesome and I can't wait to play the sequel in the near future.
This one’s my favorite!
