GOTY 11/10
This game has everything you could ever want. Excitement with fighting. Suspension with dark, dingy places. The music engulfs you into its world and story. It's a game that everyone should experience. I fully enjoy the game and will definitely be playing it more than once.
Get the game on sale, you won't regret it. One of the most amazing, guttural, Profound stories told from two point of views of very human characters. Give the game a try before you listen to all the online reviews and forums dogging on this game for its "bad" story. I unfortunately let the voices and reviews get to me, and had somewhat of a pre-bias on the game. But one day in spring of 2025 I decided to pick it up. I played through half of the game, got to Abby's story and stopped. I didn't pick up the game till a year and some months later, which as of writing this was this Tuesday past, July 21st. I don't know what inclined me to pick the game back up again, but I'm glad I did. I was in a serious rut for gaming, nothing could light up that spark in me anymore. But I found myself with the feeling of excitement at work, when it's almost time to go home so I can continue playing my game! I finished it not 2 hours ago, and man, what a good game. The characters are so profoundly real, and human, the world building is absolutely astonishing, the music and story is so pensive and pulls at your heart strings, the game's atmosphere adapts so well to the music, and the scene. You feel like you're literally there with these characters. The story is so rich, so profound and guttural. The combat is brutal, how the game introduces combat areas is the best I've ever experienced, I'm not a big "scary" game person, but this game sets up the fear factor so well with its music, environment, build up, and overall context of each area and scene. You don't feel rushed, you feel like you're being naturally eased into the scene, area and every dialogue sequence, everything feels so dynamic and real, like you're really there with these characters. I found myself taking time in every area, whether it be exploring to find materials or more context of what's going on with the room, etc. The silence in the game is what I remember the most, the developers and story writers use silence very well, in all aspects. From the utter silence in a room full of zombies to just a bass guitar playing then fading out as two characters hash it out, not verbally, just by looking at each other and their body language. Another thing, the motion capture and body animation is insane! That to rival Red Dead 2! The graphics are amazing, I run it on a 4070 FE 12GB maxxed out with no issues. I play on the Ps5 controller because it felt more immersive to me as I moved through the game, combat with the controller sort of sucked, aiming wasn't too great, but I was never a good controller player. I aimed better with mouse and keyboard, but the game overall felt better being played on a controller. Don't knock it till you try it. It's a ridiculously good game, and a great companion to the first. The choices and twists in the story are controversial, sure, but who are we to deny that things like that do not happen in real life too? Life imitates art, does it not? *Spoiler* I may be in the minority when I say this, but I enjoyed the game more when I was playing as Abby than when I was playing Ellie. There were scenes at the end of the game where, as Ellie, I did not want to Hurt Abby. That was ME, that was the character that I played. But I think that is intended, that hesitation, that pull away from doing what the character that you're playing as is feeling, that reluctant to take Abby's life because you know it's wrong, these two characters were essentially on the same path. Hurt people , Hurt People. Abby was traumatized by the death of her father, Who Joel killed to save Ellie in the first game. Abby could not forget that, she pursued it with a wrath, and once she got what she sought, it still did not bring her peace, and we see this through the game. Her relationship with Owen and what happens between them and Mel, and as the game unfolds are, to me, the most tragic, yet real and profoundly human experiences I've ever been "apart" of. You feel the pain, the anger, the grief, the relief, the fear and the joy of it all. I found myself at the end of the game playing as Ellie and I wished I was just playing as Abby. She is my favorite character in this game. She, more than Ellie (in my opinion) has been made through the story ,more relatable from my own life than what Ellie has experienced. Maybe I need to replay the first one again and then start with last of us part 2 anew to see if it changes my perspective, but regardless, I genuinely enjoyed playing as Abby, I think it was a great, great idea from the developers. Telling two stories of the same coin, as to say. 9/10. great story, wonky brutal but fun combat, heart racing, heart breaking, exhilarating, guttural, sad, melancholic, beautiful image of life depicted by art. Good Game.
E eu amo a Abby fodase
Sublime
incredible game 10/10 story highly reccomend
