About
The world you knew is gone.
You awaken as the last active Caretaker, a machine built for one purpose: save humanity. Across a vast ocean covering the ruins of Earth, you must recover human seeds, restore the Lazarus Complex, and prepare the next generation for launch into orbit.
The Last Caretaker is a first-person survival-crafting game about systems, choices, and purpose. Every resource matters. Every structure has a reason to exist. Every success gives humanity one more chance.

Recover human seeds and return them to the Lazarus Complex. Manage their growth, restore memory data, and prepare them for life beyond Earth.
Scavenge abandoned facilities, dismantle wreckage, and recycle materials into tools, weapons, power networks, and essential modules. Restore the machinery needed to keep the mission alive.
Rogue machines, hostile systems and the world itself will push back. Repair and maintain, upgrade your equipment, and protect what remains.
Restore ancient launch infrastructure, chart the ocean, gather resources and memories, and send the humans you raised into orbit. The mission is not survival for its own sake. It is a continuation.
Explore silent Sanctuary docks, Refuel Outposts, Underwater cities, and long-forgotten Seed Vaults. The story is uncovered through places, logs, memories, and the remains of a civilization that tried to outlive its own world.

i really like this game but i wish there was coop in it cause that would make it more enjoyable
About 40 hours in, and am thoroughly impressed. The game feels polished. Did I lose 'cargo' that was strung up on my boat for no reason? yes. Do I think that would happen in real life because I'm not a sailor? yes. Learning about the story one piece at a time, feels satisfying in a weird way. Kudos to the dev team for this gem. Well worth the money, and am fully invested and excited to see how the heck this story plays out!
Amazing game, so much fun. Got to love scrapping :)
so i played most of the game by now i love it here and there its needs some love still with a few little bugs here and there but other than that great game recomend it really
addicting game
Playing on Epic graphics no/low problems on max quality, love the game, mechanics and concept. After playing 40 hours, I have accomplished a lot, but it also feels like I haven't done much! Love when games make your impact feel small but still be making the world a different place. Highly recommend the game if you like factory esc games or walking/driving sims. Its got combat, building, resource management and much much more. Definitely try it out. I can't spell LOL
Tolles Spiel, sehr umfangreich und innovativ. Habe schon 20h auf der Uhr und bin gefühlt noch am Anfang.
the adventure and creativity is amazing!
This game, even in early access, is an achievement in interactive story telling. Taking all the caveats of early access, (I think I had no fewer than 10 crashes while playing through everything that exists to date), this game pulls off the grandiose ambition that I've seen so many try and miss. Somewhere between the survival looting and hoarding of "The Long Dark" and the mechanization and automation of "Factorio" and "Satisfactory" with a whole bunch more added. Wall-E on a boat, but with a gun and a much more ambitious mission: create new humans and send them to the stars. The story is beautiful, the pacing is a bit on the slow side. Progression can be slow, and at times things feel a bit "grindy" as you must repeat the play loop and carry another 150kg manually back to the ship before proceeding. For all I could gripe, this has been one of the most addictive and powerful experiences I've had in a game in a very long time. This game is a masterpiece and it's still in early access. I hope they follow the trail blazed by Coffee Stain with Satisfactory and keep making this better and better while keeping to the original vision, free of excessive "and also" bloat. Even if this version (Update 5: New Horizons) was considered the final game, I would recommend this to anyone who likes the solo survival crafting management adventure genre, if that's a thing. However you choose to categorize this game, it's a beautiful story and experience worth a few dozen (hundred?) hours of your life and a few dozens of your hard-earned dollars.
