About
Lured in by shared nightmares, madmen travel to a remote island crowned by a silent Tower. No one remembers the journey.
The Lantern of the Laughless Saint is an open world RPG built around exploration and connection. You learn the land by walking it, following rumors, reading scraps of burned history, and meeting lost souls who wandered to the ends of the Earth, following the same feverish dream of a light buried beneath the Tower.
Somewhere in the depths is a theater with an empty stage, waiting for an audience. As you repair or ruin the lives of the island's inhabitants, the phantoms they leave behind take their seats in the audience. The more seats you fill, the more the island listens, and the greater the applause for your final act.
And if you don’t want to descend alone, you don’t have to. The entire game is fully playable in co-op: explore the island together, delve into the depths for treasures, and make the choices that will decide the fate of everyone on the island, and beyond...
A wild, ancient island to explore
Follow leads, find shortcuts into the Tower, stumble into side stories, and piece together what is real and what is mere delusion.
Open Ended
Most quests have multiple resolutions. Mercy, violence, compromise, deceit.
A large cast of bizarre characters
Many strange folk find their home on the island. A giant toad learning to read. An ancient skeleton who just wants to swim. A musician from a faraway land hunts for something precious. Everyone has a theory for why you’re here. None of them agree.
The Amphitheater
Your choices change the world. Treat others with kindness and generosity, and a trusted friend will take their seat in your audience. Fail or abuse them, and something darker takes their place. The House fills either way.
Visceral Combat with multiple weapon types
Punchy combat against strange horrors
Full co-op
Play the whole game together. Explore the world, share the spoils, and decide who you will become, because the consequences belong to all of you.
The Tower does not call the whole. It calls the broken, the wanting.
Fill the seats. Start the performance. Find out what is buried at the bottom of the well.

Morrowind 2.0
They should have left the original trailer up on the store page, but I'll forgive them for removing it, since they are trying to make enough money off this game to make the next one. It's great. There's minimal jank tbh, and as a scrollslike, that's high praise, because bethesda hasn't been able to get their own engine to run right for almost 30 years now. This really does feel like the successor to Morrowind that Oblivion and Skyrim absolutely weren't. This is a tribute in the most sacred sense I've seen in a product. There's so much reverence for the inspiration, while quietly adding all kinds of little quality of life changes. You could spend 20 bucks on this, grab the GOTY of morrowind for 15, and have a better experience than any AAA game I've bought in years, barring something made by Fromsoft. Buy this ♥♥♥♥, coward.

its a neat game but i think it needs a few more bugfixes before its really playable. when i started up the game for the first time it was lagging really badly to the point i had to reset the game i was getting maybe 4 frames a sec but it looked like less than that. after resetting that mostly fixed it but i was still getting a bit of lag. i joined up with a friend and got through a bit of the starting area and then it took us a moment to figure out how to equip a weapon (its hold f after equipping it in the inventory) but the enemies seemed to go invisible after death 100% of the time for him and 25% of the time for me so looting skeletons and slimes was annoying. then i fell through the map and there was no kill box or tp threshold so i just kept falling hopefully reloading a save fixes it but that was like the 3rd time we had to reload in an hour so i just called it there. it looks like its a fun game but in its current state id wait a bit to get it.
Scratching that Elder Scrolls itch and with a unique and interesting setting. The game has co-op, a detailed open world with lots to explore and most importantly: Freg 🐸
Incredible writing, very intriguing. Decent gameplay, despite much jank as can be expected from a game at the start of early access. The music is interesting. The world is fascinating. I very much look forward to seeing more of this setting. What if the real lantern was all the audience members we found along the way?
Esoteric and jank (affectionate) Only thing I find truly frustrating so far is that ranged enemies back away from me faster than I can reach them with a melee, which is really annoying. Luckily that can be fixed with levelling up.
I've completed a couple of quests with in an hour or so. Love that you can get a "house" really quick from a quest. Graphics and environment are great. Love that so far NPC's are fully voiced. I do have one complaint, the map needs more work, specifically more detail.... I constantly get lost in the first town. But so far, I would recommend this game if you like the no hand held game play of Marrowind!
This is a seriously impressive game for such a small team. They've really made a cool world with awesome map design. When you first start out, you might compare the island to games from the elder scrolls series and think it's a bit small, but there is depth beyond what you can imagine. There are tunnels and structures hidden among the trees that will amaze you and reward you with deadly combat and loot. The lore of the world seems deep and inspired, clearly thought out rather than hastily written as checkbox on a list. The quests, like the trailer says, vary from interesting and moody to very silly and often very obtuse. Because the game is in early access there's still quite a few rough edges in terms of game balance and glitches, but the team is working fast to fix holes and patch bugs while still releasing content updates. I commend their zeal and hope it lasts until 1.0. If you're on the fence about getting this game, you must check up on it again in the future because it's only going to get better. Also, I asked in the discord server if they were going to add more hammers to the game and then they added more hammers to the game. Instant 10/10.
awesome sauce. Multiplayer works great now
