Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.71/day in the week to Aug 2 → 2.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Takumi Sumino is a totally average teenager living in the Tokyo Residential Complex, a place where every day is much like the last and nothing bad ever happens. All that changes when freakish monsters attack the town and start wreaking havoc. A strange creature calling himself Sirei appears and offers Takumi the power to protect those he holds dear... All he has to do is stab himself in the chest!
The next thing he knows, Takumi is in Last Defense Academy, a school in the middle of nowhere surrounded by a wall of otherworldly flames. He and 14 other students have been drafted into the Special Defense Unit, a team tasked with keeping the school safe for the next 100 days. How much are they willing to sacrifice to take back their normal lives and save the world from the grotesque school invaders?
The curtain rises on 100 days of war and despair...
Takumi's choices will decide his future, but there's no telling what kind of consequences these decisions might have...
When the invaders attack, it's up to you to protect the school in SRPG battles.
Use each student's unique Specialist Skills to turn the tide of battle in your favor!
Spend time with your teammates to deepen your bonds, or explore the wilderness and ruins outside the school.
You can even use the items you find to craft gifts and get even closer to your allies!

I now understand why they want to branch away from the Danganronpa series
WE'RE NOT STOPPING UNTIL WE'RE ALL DEAD SO STRAP IN

I finished the game in 131 hours with all the endings. I kind of dropped back to Safety difficulty because of time constraints... and motivation. In the end, I decided to give it a thumbs-up, but it’s a very mixed one: the first 40 hours were really good, there’s suspense, mystery, and even the “normal” ending hits surprisingly hard (like, really hard)... That said, not everything is perfect: you can definitely recognize Kazutaka Kodaka’s touch, but compared with his work on Danganronpa, it’s much more predictable overall. The gameplay loop is fairly quick, which feels nice at first... unfortunately, it’s also very short. There isn’t as much variety as in Danganronpa, with only three major gameplay pillars: combat, persuasion, and exploration. The tactical side is fun in concept: the members of the Special Defense Unit all have their own quirks and kits that feel distinct enough. The idea of being able to reuse the same character while severely limiting their movement turns the battlefield into a puzzle, and it’s genuinely satisfying to wipe out enemies before they even get a turn. Those enemies, however, are all very similar, and the bosses don’t add that much variety either... and you also have to deal with an extremely limited pool of maps. Character upgrades aren’t useless, but absolutely nothing feels game-changing. All of that means the game has a solid foundation... but it just isn’t developed enough, which becomes even more frustrating when you run into how repetitive the game can be. The persuasion sections try to recapture the idea behind Danganronpa’s Non Stop Debates, but with only two characters, they clearly don’t have the same tension or presentation, so it’s hard to feel fully hyped. Exploration takes the form of a board game and is used only to gather resources to upgrade skills or manage bonding events with the other members of the SDU. The problem is that the spaces, the events tied to them, and even your movement are all governed entirely by RNG... Sure, the different gameplay aren’t especially deep by themself, but it moves along quickly enough that it works... as long as you stick to the main story. Because yes, you basically need to sit through those 100 days at least 21 times, on top of dealing with branching paths that aren’t always very well justified. And even if the pacing stays strong enough to keep you curious, and even if the different routes keep a largely consistent cast, I personally would have preferred something more tightly constructed instead of pastiches of shonen, horror, and comedy... And I have quite a few issues with the “Uchikoshi” route, which mostly feels like it’s trying to stitch several routes together without really providing a definitive ending... in fact, it ignores quite a lot of what happens in the normal ending... and even the prologue’s cliffhanger is just... ignored! Some of the lore surrounding the Invaders and parasites also deserved to be explored in more depth. Musically, it’s decent, with a few standout tracks (Inherited Life is going to give me PTSD because of what it’s associated with...), but a lot of it feels very... sometimes too close to what I’ve already heard in Danganronpa. Overall, I still come away with a positive recommendation, but only barely... especially if you’ve already played Danganronpa.
Good story. Gameplay is also pretty fun
Kako.
