Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.71/day in the week to Aug 2 → 2.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Takumi Sumino is a totally average teenager living in the Tokyo Residential Complex, a place where every day is much like the last and nothing bad ever happens. All that changes when freakish monsters attack the town and start wreaking havoc. A strange creature calling himself Sirei appears and offers Takumi the power to protect those he holds dear... All he has to do is stab himself in the chest!
The next thing he knows, Takumi is in Last Defense Academy, a school in the middle of nowhere surrounded by a wall of otherworldly flames. He and 14 other students have been drafted into the Special Defense Unit, a team tasked with keeping the school safe for the next 100 days. How much are they willing to sacrifice to take back their normal lives and save the world from the grotesque school invaders?
The curtain rises on 100 days of war and despair...
Takumi's choices will decide his future, but there's no telling what kind of consequences these decisions might have...
When the invaders attack, it's up to you to protect the school in SRPG battles.
Use each student's unique Specialist Skills to turn the tide of battle in your favor!
Spend time with your teammates to deepen your bonds, or explore the wilderness and ruins outside the school.
You can even use the items you find to craft gifts and get even closer to your allies!

9/10, wouldve been 10/10 if eito were a woman
This game exceeded all my expectations of a Tactics RPG/Visual Novel. I love all the characters, the combat and the visuals as they are fantastic. The Tactical Part is very easy to learn and has alot of options for you to choose while not being that hardcore. I highly recommend this for anyone.

This is one of the longest and most ambitious story-driven games I’ve ever played, and the ride was absolutely worth it. The characters are genuinely likable, the story structure ties everything together beautifully, and I honestly don’t have a single complaint about the game. I only highly recommend The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy if you are familiar with Kodaka's & Uchikoshi's handiwork. Specific lines of dialogue feel very on-the-nose if you’ve played their older games. They basically took the best parts of their past creations, reverse-engineered them, and made everything flourish in one complete package. For fans, it’s an easy standout. As an entry point, it could be difficult to get into and enjoy.
Despite advertising 100 endings, none of them feel truly real or canonical. There is one route that clearly positions itself as the “almost true” one (judging by the special credits and the amount of resources spent on it). Depending on your choices, you can reach it already on your first playthrough, which makes the remaining routes feel even more pointless. Most other endings come across as filler or spin-offs that add little to nothing to the overarching narrative. They don’t meaningfully expand the world or resolve mysteries. After investing 100+ hours and completing everything, you naturally expect a genuinely true route that ties all loose ends together and justifies the time spent. Instead, there is no payoff. You get no resolution or catharsis, just a sense of emptiness and dissatisfaction. It’s hard not to feel that the time was wasted. This is what happens when developers prioritize quantity over quality.
A ridiculous experiment in storytelling with a strategy game attached. The Hundred Line (and the contained sequel) provides a thrilling overarching mystery for players to solve and draw their own conclusions from. The large time investment rewards you with hidden character depth and exploring what-ifs that range from humorous to nightmare-inducing. Also, this is a very convenient game to play streamed to my phone while babysitting.
How far are you willing to go for what you truly treasure? Hundred líne's main theme usually goes under the radar, but pretty much everything ties with it. Where do I even start? For a game as ambitious as this one, with the madmen of Kazutaka Kodaka and Uchikoshi leading the project, 6 million+ characters of length and over 600 CGs with 100 different endings, there really isn't anything that I can say that can properly describe what this game makes me feel. Takumi Sumino is your ordinary guy. He lives his monotonous daily life without much ambition of his own. This is until his city and his childhood friend Karua are attacked by the "invaders" mysterious creatures that are attacking humanity for an unknown reason. Takumi awakens the power of "hemoanima", which basically lets him manipulate his blood and use it as a weapon to fight the invaders. He then gets dragged into "Last Defense Academy", where he among another group of teenagers who are also wielders of the power of hemoanima must defend from the invaders for a grand total of 100 days. This is a very brief summary of course, as the game's narrative branches a lot (it took me more than 200 hours to read everything) and there are so many plot points I can't even begin to explain without essentially writing a complete essay. That's why instead of focusing on the story, I'll focus on my opinion on what this game tries to do, and why I think it's the most ambitious and soulful project I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Firstly, the characters. They are all great. Kodaka finally created his magnum opus and it's in part thanks to the cast. They are all characters written in the Kodaka style, which means they are all exaggerate and each have their own clear gags. However, when some of these type of characters in Danganronpa come off as one-dimensional (which is on purpose, to elevate the main characters) this doesn't really happen in 100 line. Every single character has layers to them and surprisingly a lot of these layers aren't all on your face, you actually have to pay attention to the subtext to fully understand some of them (which isn't common for Kodaka chars). Also, the character dynamics are incredible. Having so much runtime plays to the title's advantage, a lot of the characters get the opportunity to interact with one another in meaningful or unexpected ways thanks to the nature of the branching plot. Some characters individually are amazing as well. Eito, Hiruko, or Darumi come to mind, even Takumi himself is a great protagonist who works incredibly well in the story. The course of the story is REALLY engaging. There are so many interesting plot points and mysteries that, although sometimes it feels like it takes too long to get to the answers, when you get there the payoff is very well worth it. The branching nature of the game is pure chaos, and I'm all in for it. The routes can range all the way from the most ridiculous and dumb 100-day iteration to the most heartbreaking story. Some routes are beautifully written, some others not so much. They are very hit or miss but that's what makes the game feel like a rollercoaster of emotions The gameplay itself is solid, it naturally gets boring and somewhat repetitive after dozens of hours but you can skip the battles that you've already played, so no issue with that. The artstyle and soundtrack that defined Danganronpa are also present in this title, but they all show a clear evolution which really makes you think the composer and the artist both went all out on this project too. Overall, hundred line can make you feel so many different things: sometimes it's happy, sometimes sad. Sometimes it's boring, but sometimes it will have you on the edge of your seat like never before. That's why I think this game was made with soul. It wasn't made to appeal to the masses or to be universally liked, it was made to fulfill Kodaka's ideal of the perfect game, a game where he could truly pour is soul into, and it really shows. That's why if you like his work, I really couldn't recommend this game enough. Because hundred line is indeed, his one and only masterpiece.
