2/10. Would maybe upgrade to 3/10 if you could actually use your VR controllers in this VR experience. The home screen is poor Very limited currently. The scans are good but the delivery is lacking. A voice over narration or a guide showing you round might be a start. The completely black rooms with one or two statues in with tonnes of writing in thin air are scraping the barrel somewhat for what is meant to be a marketable product. I was actually looking forward to this but given that it feels like it's had all of about half an hour's work put into the delivery, it is currently just not worth it at all.

All the models look great. These 3D photo scans feel almost perfect. They are detailed and you can see the depth and different textures. This not a guided tour unfortunately which feels like a missed opportunity. Every exhibit in the museum has a small plaque next to it and this is the only information you are given. There is also the “Archive” part of the experience where you can explore exhibits individually and read the history behind them. There is a lot of text to read (which I wish was narrated) but the developer at least made sure it was easy to read in VR.
Controls
The Grand Museum VR can only be played with a gamepad (seated or standing). You cannot interact with anything. There is no locomotion, only teleport. The teleport halo follows your gaze (I wish there was any other way because it is distracting) and you push a button on your controller to move around.
Verdict
I recommend buying this VR experience (preferably at a discount) if you know what you are getting. It is not interactive and there is no narration. What you see on the screenshots is what you get plus pleasant piano music. I found The Grand Museum VR to be relaxing and informative, but also very limited. I am a museum junkie and studied art history in college. This experience had an opportunity to be one of the best. However, with the control of just a gamepad, exploring the museum was frustrating because the controls never lined up, making it seem like I was dancing in circles among the displays. Speaking of displays, not all were labeled with a description - and most of the ones that had a label were only legible if you were right on top of it. Also, some of the sculptures were poorly modeled, making them a comic relief rather than a relief with accurate detail. The developer needs to program controllers into navigating the museum, and make labels easier to read. Waste of time. Waste of money.
The game doesn't start on Quest or WMR. Refund.
