Designed to be played in short bursts whenever you wish, time in The Garden Path runs in concert with the outside world. Following a mix of real-time and in-game time, the game will show you all four beautiful seasons in 28 real-world days, but each in-game day mirrors a 24-hour clock.
Stop by to wander your garden whenever the mood takes you and find new travelers, events, activities, and distractions waiting for you each day. Take your time, play for a little while, and witness how your Garden will grow and change over time.
You won’t be alone in your new home. A charming cast of vegetable-headed visitors are eager to make your acquaintance, and may even make their home alongside your own. Complete tasks for them, grow your bonds, and even compete in a friendly game of Conkers!
Over time, an endearing troupe of travelers will also come and go. Get to know Tabbal the grumpy Berber toad who only appears on a rainy day, Larto the musk ox with a penchant for song-fish, and many more. Traveling merchants will look to make trades with you for various useful items like seeds, decorative items, and tools.
With a unique hand-drawn aesthetic, The Garden Path’s stunning visual design embraces you from the start. Whether you want to design a cozy escape from reality with lush furniture items or expand your garden to new heights, decorating your Garden is completely up to you.
Let songs and sounds of nature find you, as you build a new haven in your own storybook-style garden. With two original scores, each unique to Night and Day, enjoy the Garden’s music whenever you play.
Every good Garden begs to be enjoyed with friends and family. Play The Garden Path with a second player in our local co-op mode! Just link up another controller (or share!) and enjoy wandering the Garden together.
Combine efforts by sharing an inventory and collecting harvestables to trade with traveling merchants. Enjoy your time together by using in-game emotes, and maybe even start a dance party in the process!

This is my new favorite cozy game. I like wondering around collecting things and finding ladybugs and frogs. Furniture items like the glass vase and the garden archway can be customized with flowers you've collected which I really adore. My only knit pick is the teapot not being reusable. Is my character drinking the tea then eating the pot?
This is a really relaxing game.. it's not something that demands your attention or full focus, or even something you need to interact with daily. It's like a cherished old friend or beloved family member.. you visit when you feel up to it, and it's always there to greet you with a comfy hug and warm drink. This isn't for people who are after fast paced gameplay.. I was a backer for this title and it's changed a lot in all the best ways, while maintaining its core comfy aspects. If cozy, laidback gameplay is your thing.. check into this title, you won't regret it.
The Garden Path is a love a letter to those who enjoy a calm, self paced game filled with wonderful nature & nostalgia. Personally claiming this game as my GOTY. ( as a fellow plant enthusiast) Such a charming game with loveable characters & adventure. I loved learning about the plants & new worlds. It brought me a lot of peace & content on those hard days. 🍃🌻 Gameplay video below https://youtu.be/-SplB0VI1CM?si=vtIZ38TjXqzzlJHy
This is a review of playing the game in local co-op on PC. We play with xbox and switch controller. For those who wonder (like we did) how to enter co-op mode, you do it in the main menu. It usually starts up with keyboard layout and then you hit 'B' (xbox) on the controller to switch to gamepad and then player 2 hit 'A' (switch) to add player 2, or 'T' (on the keyboard). You will see two controller icons on top above the 'Continue' button. Great job! (^-^)b There is no tutorial for how to enter co-op mode in the game itself and that is the games biggest drawback when it comes to it's co-op mode. Apart from this the game is a gem for couch co-op players. \(^-^)/ If you start the game in co-op both players can create their own character. Player 2 can do everything player 1 can and it has been put effort into the dialogue so that every other character in the game recognizes player 1/2 (it only depends on who talks to the character first) as gardener number two. It's complete freedom in co-op for players to go each their way and work on different missions. I can be planting trees on one end of the map while my partner talks to a character on the other. This game has both a common inventory, where most plant objects that you harvest ends up in, and an individual inventory for player 1/2 where other items ends up; like clothing and furniture. In order to trade items between player 1 and 2 you need to use a container. In the beginning when you don't have any, you can use one of the many stashes spread across the map. Just don't leave anything lying in the stashes, as there is still a bug where the items disappears on reload. This does not happen with other containers. There are a few items given by other characters which you only receive once, which means only one of the players will get them, but a similar type of item can usually be traded for at a later point. The music and ambience alone is worth playing the game for, and it compliments the pleasant earthly colours of the garden to the point of lulling you to sleep. It makes you want to lay down in the grass and listen to the birds sing... or use the whistle or dance emotes. (^o^) As mentioned by many other reviews here, the game still has a bucket full of bugs left to fix. But as also mentioned, this game has heart<3 and a very lively community on discord in dialogue with the developers on how to squash the little buggies. I would warmly recommend this game as a co-op experience, even more so than single-player as it's easier to solve the puzzles and missions when you have someone to discuss them with. Happy gardening with you loved ones!(^-^)y
This game is very peaceful and has a great vibe, the music and art are great. I'm struggling with figuring out how things work, so maybe it's a slow curve, but I just wish there was a little more direction besides the tutorial messages (like map markers for finding items/quest objectives). I play with controller, but find the mapped buttons and controls a little confusing to get used to. And for some reason, I get achievements in game but I don't get them in the steam client, which is a bummer. I may play more off and on to see if I can make any progress and things start to make more sense to me. I really do love the vibe and the idea of this game, so I hope I can get more into it! EDIT: just saw there was an update that fixed steam achievements, so hopefully I can retroactively get the ones I already completed in game. I find my interest in this being lower each time I launch the game because I just don't know what to do. Perhaps it's just not for me!
Really love this project. I've been following for a few years as the development, live streams, and art evolved for this game, and I've been blown away by the attitude of the people behind this game and their cozy vibe. Very cute, very relaxing game. Music and art give the perfect vibes for this game, and I'm glad that this gang came out with such an amazing story of friendship and discovery to share. Definitely recommend it!
Beautiful art direction. Distinctive and mysterious atmosphere. Excellent ambient sounds. The gameplay loop feels like Dredge but in a forest. I'm also reminded of Don't Starve with the map movement and gradual unlocks, but with the addition of a slower pace and much lower intended difficulty. That said, The Garden Path is a little bit more challenging than most farming/life sims I've played. Each new feature takes marked time and effort to unveil. The UI is confusing and unconventional, but I feel like it's been worth learning and figuring out. The Garden Path is one of the few cozy games on Steam that provides a feeling somewhat like Animal Crossing. There are some new and emerging reasons to play each day.
Really great game! I love wondering in forest, search something on the tree or in the grass. This game give me similar experience but with special feeling. Dev spend much effort on UI and interactive design. Really pretty. Play 3.5 hours first time enter this game. And I really hope to enjoy more game content upcoming in the future! ps. If the game have more information or something like wiki while we progress on discover and record the plants would be better.
