About

Scavenge and fight for your next day alive under the shadow of gargantuan war machines. Enemies in the game can literally tower over the battlefield. To put it another way:

The battlefield is unpredictable thanks to The Forever Winter’s Dynamic Encounter system: enemies have their own goals and agendas, operating in coordinated groups, undertaking full-scale battles — and they’ll intelligently react to your actions. The battlefield you leave won’t be the same one you return to.
Use your wits, stealth, and skilled gunplay to make it out alive. Choose your path in the shadow of the two great superpowers, loot the dead, and make it out alive. While the warring factions may ignore you at first, the more disruptive you become to their goals, the more they'll seek to remove you from the equation.
Ecological collapse compounded by runaway technological advancement brought us here: a world choked by 40 years of industrial-scale violence between two military superpowers, unmerciful mass killing by AI automata, human-machine hybrids, and the bleak truth of human nature. There’s two sides to this war, and you’re not on either.

Experience: I haven't played much of this game so far but I do want to say. I was only about 10 minutes into this game and a stranger named billy bob joe(I think) joined my party to my surprise. He was the most wholesome kind person to a newbie in this game. I didn't know anything yet not even the controls, which he found out later when I accidently threw a grenade instead of healing. He showed me ropes and explained to me the different enemies, loot and led me through tunnels. I never got the chance to send him a friend invite :( . But I want to say that billy bob joe if your out there. Thank you. You made feel welcomed in this game and made my day. Game Review: As for my extremely early review as you can see i don't have much time but here's my scores so far out of 10: Gameplay: 6 (Gunplay can be a bit wonky and the AI have strange patterns) Graphics: 7 (Not groundbreaking but not horrible, some textures do look wonky) Atmosphere: 10 (Amazing Level design and character design) Sound: 9 (Not perfect but pretty good) Controls: 7 (The preset gamepad controls are a bit difficult. But you can change the mappings. Keyboard and mouse are pretty standard.) IF you play this game I recommend you get it on sale and remember its a early access. It's not a bad game its a work in progress and the devs do somewhat listen to the community for ideas so that's always nice.
The Forever Winter - My Review (After 30+ Hours) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 9.8/10 When I first picked up The Forever Winter, I expected another extraction shooter. What I found instead was one of the most atmospheric and rewarding survival games I've played in years. Unlike many games in the genre, The Forever Winter doesn't make you feel like the hero. You're a scavenger trying to survive in the middle of a war that doesn't care whether you live or die. Tanks roll past, cyborg armies clash, and towering biomechanical horrors like Mother Courage stalk the battlefield while you're simply hoping to make it home with enough scrap to upgrade your Innards. That feeling of being insignificant is exactly what makes the game special. Gameplay The game rewards patience more than perfect aim. Learning the maps, memorizing safe routes, avoiding patrols, and deciding when not to fight are just as important as your weapon choice. Every raid teaches you something. Sometimes it's where a Materials Bin is hidden. Sometimes it's where a minefield definitely is... because you just became part of it. Progression The progression system is addictive. Every Wooden Plank, every Radar Walker decrypted, every new weapon attachment, and every Innards upgrade feels meaningful. You're always working toward another goal without the grind feeling repetitive. Atmosphere This may be one of the best atmospheres I've experienced in a game. The sound design, massive war machines, ruined cities, and haunting lore create a world that feels alive... even if that life mostly wants to recycle you into spare parts. The story isn't shoved in your face. You discover it through quests, NPCs like Lordoss, environmental details, and your own curiosity. Combat Combat is tense and satisfying. You quickly learn that charging into every fight is a mistake. Choosing your battles is part of surviving. The weapon customization is also deeper than I expected, giving each firearm a distinct role. Early Access Is it perfect? No. There are bugs. The UI can be confusing. Some mechanics aren't explained well. A few systems still need polish. But none of those issues have stopped me from wanting to play "just one more raid." Final Thoughts After only a couple of days, I've already invested over 30 hours into The Forever Winter, and I don't see myself slowing down. It's rare for a game to pull me in this quickly. If you enjoy tactical gameplay, extraction shooters, exploration, meaningful progression, and one of the most unique settings in modern gaming, this is absolutely worth your time. Just remember... The battlefield isn't about you. You're simply trying to survive long enough to bring home one more Wooden Plank. Score: 9.8/10 "The Forever Winter doesn't make you feel like a hero. It makes you feel like a survivor... and that's exactly why it works."
+ music, art style, story, concept, vibes, giant robots - controls, devs dont know how or just can't design a good game
This game is amazing—like, genuinely amazing—but I can’t help getting stuck while climbing on almost anything. I’ve lost nearly 300k worth of gear because of this, and it keeps happening over and over. ADD AN UNSTUCK BUTTON! It’s 2026, and I’ve been reading about this being a problem since launch. The only characters worth playing are Scav Girl or Shaman because Masked Man and Bag Man can barely go anywhere without getting stuck unless they stay out in the open. You can’t hide or climb around without eventually getting trapped. ADD AN UNSTUCK BUTTON. JUST DO IT ALREADY! If I lose an AT-43 MASS right after getting it because I’m stuck again, it makes the game feel pointless. I’m honestly close to quitting. Please just add an unstuck option already.
Fix the current state of the game. keep improving enemy AI, and probably remove only cyborg missions, the game falls apart when there are not warring factions, kill one cyborg, all others attack you, its stupid. please keep improving the game rather than adding new content, thanks.
неоптимизированая шляпа. классная задумка, но абсолютно паршивая реализация, не зря я сделал рефанд, спустя наверное полтора года игра всё такая же каловая масса неиграбельная.
It's Early Access, and by Early Access i mean borderline unplayably early. Blame the people who pressured the devs into releasing it early, but i still think that it has great potential.
JUMP IS BUGGED
Поверьте не стоит оно потраченных вами денег и не верьте положительным отзывам которые оправдывают свои потраченные деньги. Для такой игры 1000 рублей это много даже купив по скидке всё равно будете чувствовать сомнительное послевкусие
