About

Scavenge and fight for your next day alive under the shadow of gargantuan war machines. Enemies in the game can literally tower over the battlefield. To put it another way:

The battlefield is unpredictable thanks to The Forever Winter’s Dynamic Encounter system: enemies have their own goals and agendas, operating in coordinated groups, undertaking full-scale battles — and they’ll intelligently react to your actions. The battlefield you leave won’t be the same one you return to.
Use your wits, stealth, and skilled gunplay to make it out alive. Choose your path in the shadow of the two great superpowers, loot the dead, and make it out alive. While the warring factions may ignore you at first, the more disruptive you become to their goals, the more they'll seek to remove you from the equation.
Ecological collapse compounded by runaway technological advancement brought us here: a dystopian world choked by 40 years of industrial-scale violence between two military superpowers, AI automata, cybernetically enhanced soldiers, human-machine hybrids, and relentless automated warfare. There's two sides to this war, and you're not on either.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Hrm, I'll admit that I didn't play long, but from what I did play and from what I saw I wasn't exactly impressed. :L 1. The Water system is absolut Poo Poo. Why punish the player by wiping all of their stuff if they don't log in and play? If I go on holiday or want a break then there'll be a constant timer ticking away. It's like what Bungie did with Marathon, if I know that the game will automatically wipe my inventory after X amount of time then why would I even bother grinding or trying to get items? The idea of your base getting raided is interesting but it's a sh1te method of extending a game's longevity by forcing the players to repeat the gameplay cycle against their will. 2. I have no idea what is going on or who is who or where to go. The game dumps you immediately into a barren room, then tells you to find a water bottle and put it in a certain location....but it doesn't tell you where to put it or how to do so. Then, instantly the barren room is filled up with all of these new characters which you're barely introduced to and it dumps several dialouge boxes to read through to get you up to speed. I just skipped all of that sheet. I want to play, not read. In something like Mass Effect you gradually learn who all the characters and locations are. Even Warframe had better introductions than this. There's barely any animations, voice acting or cinematics. It just feels so empty. Even the enemies barely make any sounds or animations. I don't know who I am fighting or why or what they are. Left 4 dead, zombies, boom, loud, bloody, scary. Simple. Fallout 4, scary ghouls who run at you, big mutants who yell, scary dogs etc. Here, there's some robots, and terminators, and random soldiers. There's no life or believability to any of this. 3. I still don't know where I'm supposed to be going. I spawn underground. Turned left to avoid some soldiers...then was met with a wall and had to go allll the way back just to meet the soldiers again. I have no idea where the extract zone is suppsoed to be or what I'm supposed to be looting or why I'm doing this. I can barely fit anything into my pockets and it felt so pointless even playing the mission. Like I was just wasting my time. Marathon, you spawn in, grab ammo and loot, extract at the points on the map. boom. Simple. Ammo is easy to see. Guns display what ammo they use. Even though the ui was terrible in that it still was simpler to understand. 4. The UI is atrocious. It's even worse than Marathon. I had no way of understanding which items I was transferrin into my inventory vs my stash vs my secret stash, or what I was suppsoed to be taking with me. Literally I don't know how devs try each year to compete against each other to have worse inventory systems. Can't we just stick to what works rather than continually reinventing the wheel and breaking it each time? 5. The gameplay looks and feels terrible. This, everything just feels so flat. I kill an enemy but feel nothing. Why can't we just copy the sounds and gameplay from something like Ready or Not and Fallout? This looks and plays like some cheap Chinese free MMORPG that came out in 2008. The graphics are prettier, sure, and the level designs are detailed, but it's all just wallpaper over drywall. It all looks pretty from a distance but once you get closer to it you notice all the air bubbles and wall paper seams and how the patterns don't line up between the different sheets. Nothing's visceral or fun. Helldivers 2 was more interesting than this. 6. The AI is non-existent. Any game which focuses on offline (well, singleplayer at least) play needs good and engaging enemies. All i ever saw was NPCs either homing into your location or just patrolling round and round in circles. The enemies only beat you because they outnumber you and have better weapons, not because theyre smarter. This isn't fun so much as giving the illusion of a warzone. Enemies just patrol in set paths A->B->A and I'm just supposed to believe that these giant mechs are patrolling worthless patches of sewage drains or wasteland because of their tactical importance. At least give us like noise makers or firecrackers to distract the enemies. Nothing felt tense or believable because I never got immersed into this. Fallout mixed with Mass Effect mixed with Marathon, with a grand scope and pretty artwork, but never managed to make it past 50% completion. It's like we're playing in an early BETA that's still in ongoing development. Even at a discount at $20 AUD I would not recommend this to anyone.
worth every bit of pain for the vibes and awe alone
А вот в этом игросодержащем продукте хотя бы одна механика способна работать как задумывалось? Но можно и так схавать если чесно
Breaks my heart, but I cannot recommend this game in it's current state, it is beautiful and has such a style to it but the amount of deaths you'll face due to bugs and general glitchiness is absurd, especially when the stakes are so high, and when guns cost so much post the fact. I will change this review if and when the game is fully realised. also STUNLOCKS? bruh nah.
It's rough around the edges, but that's why it's early access
The game is not "broken" nowadays, but it's still unacceptably buggy for being a year in. However, what's underneath the unacceptably buggy framework is an incredibly remarkable game which I absolutely adore; it's the closest thing I have to a "favorite game" of the last few years. It's a fast-paced, high tension escape room full of giant robots. Most rooms feel more like a puzzle than they do combat: it teaches you to think "how do I get through alive?" rather than "alright, time to kill this squad," in most circumstances, and the danger of even basic enemies never really goes away. The enemy AI is much better nowadays, though I've definitely seen some silly stuff (member of a patrol walks off a cliff, someone bumps into a wall, etc.,), but the incredible, awful issues are all tech side. There's still somewhat frequent desynch issues and mission progress bugging out unless you're the host, which is insane a year out. But I think it's worth playing. If you like co-op horror games, if you like Tarkov, this game is probably up your alley if you can stomach some insane jank.
