Some things that we take for granted today is not included in this title, like how picking a magic-using starting proffesion does not provide spells instantly but rather you have to go poking through some menus to spend points for those skills to develop. It is not actually convoluted or complex, it's just that the game does not make it fully intuitive - Anyone who is a little curious and pokes around in the different options and actually reads will be just fine. It is rather easy to accidentally mess things up with the input, at least for someone like me who's impatient at times and give movement orders where your character loyally steps into the pool of hellfire it just vanquished it's enemies with. But it's generally been a rewarding experience, lots of proffesions to learn, nothing that seems to limit what one can obtain and to be enjoyed at ones own pace. Ignore the quests, start life as a herbalist and buy a house after many a year picking natures bounty if you so desire. Well constructed and perfectly functional, just not as QoL-controlled as many modern variants of this game tends to be so, especially with pathing across dangers - Though I doubt that is a dealbreaker for most with what the game offers outside of that, plethoras of varied enemies, items, fauna, flora, biomes to be experienced.
Doors of Trithius has a lot to offer fans of Stoneshard, offering new playstyles and archetypes in a world that promises to reflect your actions.
Very promising roguelike with straight game mechanics, cool art style and great character progression. Worked great with high resolutions/widescreen and also good with steam deck and is very readable. Also very supportive dev in case of problems/bugs.
I strongly believe that when this comes out in full, that this could be a great solo player retro experience. the only thing I would like to see is a way or option to reset poi's after a certain period of time and quarrymaster being able to make alot more weapons from scratch. i have more opinions but will reserve them till the game comes out in full, cause they may be addressed as the game progresses development
