About
Justice requires courage. The courage to uncover truths that no one wants to see. The courage to confront former murderers who now wear suits and command respect. The courage to be threatened, ostracised or worse. And the courage to look into the darkness and be changed forever.

You are Esther Katz, a young prosecutor who has just joined Fritz Bauer's new special unit. Your task seems impossible: to investigate crimes committed years ago, where evidence has been destroyed, witnesses silenced and the perpetrators embedded in the highest ranks of society. Every decision matters. Every interrogation can bring you closer to the perpetrator or lead you astray. Silence is your worst enemy. Time is working against you. And German society is not ready to face its past.

In 1956, Fritz Bauer and his team of “Nazi hunters” demanded justice when everyone else demanded silence. A small team of prosecutors defying an entire nation. Criminals hiding in plain sight as respected citizens. Experience their dangerous struggle through the immersive investigations. Uncover truths a country has fought to keep buried. Challenge a society desperate to rewrite its own past.

Prosecute perpetrators in court with the right charges, where your investigative thoroughness will be put to the test
Shape the outcome with multiple endings - succeed in bringing justice or face the harsh reality of a perpetrator walking free

Great Game! I couldn't stop playing.
Hoping for more cases to solve
Really fun game. the concept is really interesting and engaging. The interrogations are done well, the investigation aspect if pretty neat also. A little limited game play, but the story atmosphere are top notch. The art style has a nice mid-century feel to it, very reminiscent of late 90's and early '00's games. I highly recommend,
Great artstyle, Great Gameplay and an emotional story to follow
Compelling, gripping mysteries and overall storyline. Thoroughly enjoyed the investigation process and appreciated the layers of complexities involved in getting to the truth.
One of the games I had the most fun playing lately.
好玩的推理游戏 也蛮有教育意义的
I was looking for an investigation game that does not hold your hand, and while The Darkest Files certainly puts the investigation ball in your court (see what I did there), it also has a great story and design that draw you in. As a German that learned a lot about WW II in school, I really appreciated the juristic depth of the game. While the detective work is really dedicated, especially on hard mode, the real cases made me feel a lump in my throat several times. There are many important ways to remember what happened, and this is certainly one of them. I would love to play more cases and meet the characters again. While the game is made with a lot of love and a unique style, it felt a bit like a whole chapter was missing in the end to wrap some things up.
This game was fun. However i really needed go through an entire trial to get the mechanics of how building a case actually works. By then the game was already half over which was disappointing. However I love the unique style of gameplay and it was interesting to learn the history.
