The Dark Rites of Arkham

My favorite Postmodern Adventures outing so far, which is saying a lot. The protagonist duo have an endearing dynamic that gets better and better as the story progresses. I appreciated how the story is rooted in the historical realities of game's setting. Oftentimes, I find Lovecraftian horror elements deployed in an unanchored way, which leaves the stakes hard to invest in emotionally. That's not at all the case here. The political and social horrors of the time blend with the Lovecraftian elements, each revealing the other. So well done! If you like point and click horror and don't mind a bit of gory pixel art, I can't recommend this one enough.

For a point and click game, this was a lot of fun! The story had moments that made me laugh, but it nails the tension and horror while I was searching. I liked Harvey and Jack's relationship as they helped each other grow past their trauma. The sound design really surprised me as it was immersive along with the environment. Definitely recommend playing!

Aventura clásica, muy buena ambientación e historia. Recomendado. Su punto negativo, que es algo fácil esto no impide la jugabilidad, los puzles no son rebuscados y son bastante obvios, pero es muy disfrutable y con muchos guiños a obras y personajes de Lovecraft.

Really enjoyed the game, just the right duration, good puzzles, no need to go around revisiting the same places often. Great references to Lovecraft lore stories. Another perfect example of a logical point and click adventure videogame from Postmodern Adventures, excited to see what's next :)

This game tries to pull from multiple Lovecraft references to create a new cohesive story from the time period of the stories. It mostly succeeds at this objective even if it's a little absurd or even parody at some points. It's a point and click style game from the 90s with all the faults and issues that come with that. You'll find items that won't be useful until later and sometimes don't make sense. If that is an issue for you, then probably this is not for you. Otherwise, it's a fun little game with a good amount of atmosphere.
