Slender Threads

An absolute amazing Point and Click Adventure. The story is good, the art style is good, the voice acting is also top notch. The puzzles make sense and aren't obtuse. Must play.

This game is phenomenal. The puzzles are fun, the voice acting is great, the jokes land perfectly and the story is engaging. The art and controls work seamlessly to tell the story of this spooky seaside town. Many players are complaining about the final plot twist, to which they're entitled to, but as an old point & click player and avid reader I can tell you without spoilers that the story is great and brilliantly executed. If this was an open ended story it could easily become the next Monkey Island (albeit less pop references).

Storyline was cool until it wasn't. It became bad. HORRIBLY bad. I cannot agree more with the negative reviews. I regret spending money buying this game just right after I finished playing The Prologue. Please don't be like me.

One thing to know; it has no alt-endings. There is no other ending, but the one they've set, which is fine on its own. If you were looking for multi-ending games, this isn't for you!

This is a good point and click, I went in with low expectations having read some of the negative reviews before hand and the consistant criticism is the bad ending. So I went in with that expectation. I dunno I did not think this ending negated the entire game, and honestly it's not bad, it makes sense. it is somewhat of a twist ending, but things should click in your head once it's revealed. It's not tacked on just for the sake of it like some have suggested, it does make a lot of what you encounter in the game make sense. This was clearly crafted with the ending in mind the whole time. The art style makes sense, the people discussing fate and every night is all fated makes sense. And that's all I'll say without spoiling. I thought the conclusion was fun. I think people are being to way too hard on it. It's not the best point and click of your life, but it's beautiful, works with a controller, easy to follow and in fact my sole criticism of the game is the puzzles don't ever get to a place where you feel challeged, it's all pretty easy, great voice acting, enjoyable and shocking scenarios. It's not bad at all.

me encanto, muy buena la historia

I fully understand that a meta ending is a huge part of the point and click genre, and yet every time I am disappointed that a game like this choses a meta ending over a natural story based one. I want to be clear, I really did enjoy this. I didn't find this game hard in the slightest, but it made up for that with a really compelling story (for the most part), great visuals, voice acting and humour. There was so much mystery. [spoiler]An ancient civilisation that worships the planets, shadow creatures that are causing you to lose your free will, murders that you are connected to and with each one you know that you are the last one that needs to die. Really interesting stuff.[/spoiler] It just felt like the ending was more of a cop out for what could've been a really brilliant story. You will probably love this, and since steam doesn't allow any sort of mixed review rating I will recommend it. just go into it with your expectations a little lowered.
