About

14th-century Europe. Bloody conflicts sweep the lands, and the Black Death comes for the survivors. It's a moment of weakness - and that's all they needed. Vampires seize their opportunity to walk out of the shadows and claim what they've been denied for centuries: freedom, and the power that comes with it. Other creatures of the night follow their lead. Legends turn into reality, and history as we know it will never be the same.
You play as Coen, a young man turned into a Dawnwalker, forever treading the line between the world of day and the realm of night. Fight for your humanity or embrace the cursed powers to save your family. Whatever your choice, the question stands: is your soul worth the lives of those you love?

Experience and shape the plot the way you want. Embark on the quest to save your family, or swear revenge on your sire and destroy everyone standing in your way. Discover ancient secrets lurking in the valley. Rush in head first or risk taking time to prepare. Go alone or search for friends and forge unlikely alliances.

Experience two different gameplay loops, offering distinct abilities to choose from, mysteries to uncover, and varying ways to achieve your goals. Experiment with different approaches and discover how the world reacts to your actions.

Every action - and inaction - shapes the world around you. Your family’s days are numbered, and every time you take on a quest, time moves forward, compelling you closer to the end. Choose carefully whom to help and whom to leave behind. You will not have time for everyone. The world waits for no one. And neither does the villain.

Defy gravity, become a brutal force of nature, and use your supernatural skills as a vampire. Or raise your sword, and employ powerful magic to take on opponents as a human. Experiment and adapt as your form changes during the day and night; each has its strengths and weaknesses.

Venture through the hand-crafted open world and discover all it has to offer. Roam through the lush forests, the vast plains, the treacherous swamps, the steep mountaintops, and the medieval settlements. Explore forgotten ruins, find remnants of an ancient civilization, and uncover truths that should probably remain hidden.

Experience the beginning of a brand-new saga built with love for the role-playing genre. Immerse yourself in a visually stunning world powered by the next-gen Unreal Engine 5.

Not quite five hours in, but so far I've been having a great time. The time/task limit helps make choosing what to do feel more impactful, the story has been good so far, as well as the dialogue. I'm looking forward to seeing how things turn out.
The Blood of Dawnwalker has officially been out for 24 hours, and I have been playing it a lot, as you can see from my playtime. I wanted to leave a quick review. TLDR: This is the most fun I have had with a fantasy ARPG since my first time playing Skyrim. If your PC can run it, buy it! Everything that makes Dawnwalker so unique are its biggest strengths: the human/vampire day and night gameplay, time being a finite resource, and the directional combat. These ideas are all executed on extremely well in my opinion, and help Dawnwalker stand out compared to other similar games. You get two presets for armor and weapons, one for when you are basically Geralt during the day, and the other for when you are a vampire at night. Some quests can be completed in either form, and some require a specific form. Overall, I find this mechanic really fun. They play nearly identically, which I think is a good thing, because if they were so different to where one was objectively more fun than the other, it would drag the game down, as you have to engage with both forms. I have never played a game with directional combat, such as Kingdom Come Deliverance, but I think it works great here. I also NEVER play third-person action games with keyboard and mouse, but I have been with Dawnwalker, and it has been my preferred way to play compared to controller, surprisingly. The time mechanic works similarly to Persona, oddly enough. There is no actual in-game timer that punishes you for lollygagging, but instead time is broken up into 8 "points" that you can spend to do certain things, such as starting or finishing a quest, or learning a new skill, at the expense of not being able to do other things at that time. At any given time, let's say there may be 40 points worth of things to do in any in-game day, but you only have 8 to spend, so what do you do? Well, it is left to the player to decide, but some quests will not be open forever, making the player have to think about how they spend this resource wisely. I really like this, it makes it feel like there is actual weight to my decisions. As much as I love Skyrim, the fact that a Two-Handed Heavy Armor Nord can enroll in the College of Winterhold, the Dark Brotherhood AND the Thieves Guild simultaneously makes no sense, but it is allowed for the sake of letting the player experience the WHOLE game in one save file. Rebel Wolves fundamentally rejects that idea, and the game is better for it. For a debut game from a new studio, in a super competitive genre, The Blood of Dawnwalker is worth your time, and I am very excited to see what comes next.

Its a very enjoyable game. Combat is fun. Ability tree is fantastic. I love the story. Performance could use some work but i have a nice pc thankfully. I like it more than witcher 3 but im also a bit of a hater.

its so fun. its like a mix of Witcher, For Honor, and Dishonored.
Oi! This is just The Witcher 3 with vampires and a somehow worse combat system, innit? I mean........inject it into my veins, pls.
If you like this witcher 3 you'll also like this game

The game is fine so far, you can really feel it was made by Witcher Devs . I can't say much about the Story yet since I'm a bit after the prologue. HOWEVER, you can tell the game was not designed with multiple opponents mind. The camera switches so abruptly when you kill an enemy and if another enemy is mid swing while the gamera switches targets, you are getting hit. In addition, when I'm trying to target a specific enemy in front of me, the cameras will lock to some guy on the other corner of the arena. Also why DO YOU SWITCH TARGETS after I use an ability on an enemy ,I want to keep gathering HIM. If they fix these issues,it will be a really good game , will it be GOTY? Don't think so, but it could be nominated.
If you like Witcher games, then you'd like this one as well. Solid 10/10 open-world RPG
