Beautiful game, one of the best indie games i have played, quite relaxing and fun. Quite nostalgic too.
Developed by Land & Sea and published by Snowman, The Alto Collection combines Alto's Adventure and Alto's Odyssey into a single package that highlights why the series has become one of the most respected names in the endless runner genre. Rather than relying on fast-paced action alone, these games focus on fluid movement, beautiful scenery, and a calming atmosphere that encourages players to enjoy the journey as much as the challenge. Bringing both titles together gives newcomers a complete introduction to the franchise while offering returning fans a polished collection with PC-focused features and refined presentation. The gameplay is intentionally accessible, using simple controls that allow anyone to begin playing within minutes. Beneath that simplicity lies a rewarding system built around timing, momentum, and precision. Players guide Alto and a growing roster of unlockable companions across endless mountains and deserts, performing jumps, flips, and grinds while avoiding hazards and maintaining long trick chains. The collection includes hundreds of objectives that steadily introduce new mechanics and encourage experimentation with different characters, each possessing unique attributes that subtly change how every run feels. This gradual progression keeps the experience engaging without overwhelming players with unnecessary complexity. Although both games share the same core mechanics, each offers its own distinct identity. Alto's Adventure takes players through peaceful snow-covered mountains, villages, forests, and dramatic cliffs, creating an experience that feels cozy and serene. Alto's Odyssey shifts the setting to expansive deserts filled with towering rock formations, ancient ruins, balloons, waterfalls, temples, and sweeping sand dunes. Procedurally generated environments ensure that no two runs are exactly alike, while changing weather conditions, dynamic lighting, and a complete day-and-night cycle continually refresh the scenery. These environmental variations make every session feel visually rewarding even after many hours of play. One of the collection's strongest qualities is its outstanding artistic direction. Instead of pursuing realistic graphics, the developers embrace a minimalist visual style that emphasizes silhouettes, vibrant color palettes, and elegant animations. Every landscape resembles a carefully crafted illustration, with sunsets, snowstorms, rain, lightning, fog, and shifting skies blending naturally into the gameplay. The smooth animation of every jump and landing reinforces the game's relaxing rhythm, making movement itself feel satisfying regardless of whether players are chasing high scores or simply enjoying the scenery. The audio design complements the visuals exceptionally well. Gentle music and subtle environmental sounds create an atmosphere that is peaceful rather than distracting, allowing players to settle into a comfortable flow as they glide through each environment. Zen Mode further reinforces this philosophy by removing many traditional gameplay pressures, allowing players to experience the landscapes without worrying about objectives or failure. This mode transforms the collection into a relaxing escape that stands apart from most arcade-style games. Replay value is another major strength. Completing objectives, unlocking every playable character, collecting coins, improving trick combinations, and climbing Steam leaderboards provide long-term motivation for players who enjoy refining their skills. The PC version also benefits from full controller support, Steam achievements, cloud saves, and Steam Deck compatibility, making it easy to continue progress across different devices while maintaining a consistently smooth experience. The Alto Collection is not entirely free from limitations. Players expecting a story-heavy adventure or extensive gameplay variety may eventually notice that both titles remain rooted in the endless runner formula. While the environments evolve and objectives introduce fresh challenges, the fundamental gameplay loop changes very little over time. Some players may also find the intentionally tranquil pacing slower than the more action-focused experiences commonly found in the genre. However, these aspects reflect the series' design philosophy rather than genuine shortcomings. Ultimately, The Alto Collection succeeds because it understands exactly what it wants to be. It delivers two beautifully crafted adventures that prioritize elegance, accessibility, and atmosphere over excessive complexity. Every run captures a satisfying balance between relaxation and skill, supported by exceptional visuals, memorable sound design, and polished gameplay systems. For players seeking an experience that is both peaceful and rewarding, this collection stands as one of the finest examples of minimalist game design available on Steam. The Alto Collection is a superb compilation that combines two outstanding endless runner experiences into one refined package. Its gorgeous presentation, intuitive controls, relaxing ambiance, and satisfying progression make it an excellent choice for both casual players looking to unwind and dedicated players aiming to master every challenge. 好游戏
Прикольная игра что бы спокойно расслабиться советую :)
крут
Relajante :)
Absolute peak! You basically get two games for the price of one, and while I found Adventure to be the much more fun and cozy of the two, Odyssey has some fun parts as well. It is just so satisfying and has awesome visual design. If you're also a completionist, this will probably be among your hardest and consequently most proud completions. Gets my award for best game played with a single button!
