Fancy Skiing is developed by HashVR Studio built with the Unity Engine. The game's structure is based on real skiing that players use the handles just as ski poles to get power and lean left or right to control the direction, which brings players a strong immersion.

A buggy mess, at least on the Oculus. Don't bother. For perhaps the only decent skiing game that's currently out, download the environment for the SteamVR Home called "downhill skiing". It's also free, unlike this one I'm reviewing.
I tried to play the game. Keyword "tried" I tried to grab the Poles. I did as the game told me to by pushing the trigger. I then started to push every button and it didn't do anything. After trying for 5 minutes I eventually got it to work after doing the same thing over and over again. And the game itself was okay its just the fact its so buggy that you cant even start the game properly. I only got the game to work like 3 times. The game would be fine but its just too buggy to be worth it
Fancy Skiing VR is an early virtual reality sports experience developed and published by 哈视奇科技 that focuses on translating the physical sensation of downhill skiing into an interactive, motion-driven VR format. Released during the formative years of consumer VR, the game reflects a design philosophy centered on accessibility and bodily engagement rather than technical simulation depth. Its goal is not to recreate professional alpine skiing with precise physics, but to offer an intuitive, active experience that lets players feel as though they are gliding through snowy environments using their own movements. The core of Fancy Skiing VR revolves around motion-based controls that encourage players to mimic real skiing actions. Using VR controllers as virtual ski poles, players push forward to gain speed and lean their bodies left or right to steer down the slope. This approach gives the experience a tactile quality that distinguishes it from traditional sports games controlled with buttons or analog sticks. The sense of propulsion created by repeated arm movements can feel surprisingly engaging, especially for newcomers to VR who are eager for experiences that emphasize physical involvement. The option to play either seated or standing further broadens accessibility, making it easier for players to adjust the experience to their comfort level and reduce motion discomfort. The environments in Fancy Skiing VR are designed to support fast, readable gameplay rather than hyper-realistic detail. Snowy mountains, forested paths, and canyon-like stretches form the backdrop of each run, with obstacles placed along the route to test reaction time and balance. These courses are generally linear, encouraging forward momentum and continuous motion rather than exploration. Occasional jumps and environmental set pieces add variety, while whimsical touches—such as animals appearing along the slopes—lend the game a slightly arcade-like tone. This balance between scenic simplicity and playful elements reinforces the game’s identity as a casual VR sports title. Challenge in Fancy Skiing VR is largely self-imposed, emerging from how smoothly players can maintain speed while avoiding collisions. Crashing into obstacles disrupts rhythm and breaks immersion, making control consistency a central skill to develop. Over time, players learn how subtle shifts in posture affect steering, turning what initially feels imprecise into something more predictable. However, the physics model remains forgiving, prioritizing flow over realism. This makes the game approachable for short sessions but may leave experienced VR users wishing for more nuanced control or deeper mechanical systems. Presentation and audiovisual design are functional but modest. Visuals emphasize clarity, ensuring obstacles and pathways are easy to read even at higher speeds. The lack of visual clutter helps prevent sensory overload, which is particularly important in VR. Sound effects and ambient audio reinforce the sensation of movement, though they rarely stand out as a defining feature. Together, these elements support immersion without demanding high-end hardware or extensive configuration, reflecting the game’s origins in an earlier phase of VR development. Longevity is where Fancy Skiing VR shows its limitations most clearly. The experience is designed for short, energetic play sessions rather than long-term progression or mastery. There are no deep customization systems, competitive multiplayer modes, or expansive content updates to extend replay value significantly. Instead, the appeal lies in jumping in for a quick, physical run, enjoying the sensation of speed, and then stepping away. For some players, this simplicity is refreshing; for others, it may feel too lightweight to justify repeated returns over time. In the broader context of VR gaming, Fancy Skiing VR stands as a snapshot of early experimentation with motion-based sports design. It captures the enthusiasm of developers exploring how physical movement could enhance immersion, even if the execution lacks the refinement seen in later VR titles. For players interested in casual VR sports experiences or those curious about early attempts at skiing simulation in virtual reality, it offers an accessible and occasionally satisfying ride. While it may not compete with more modern, feature-rich VR sports games, Fancy Skiing VR remains a straightforward and earnest example of how bodily interaction can shape a virtual experience. Rating: 6/10
Это скорей не для игры самому, а чтобы приколоться над родней, кто устоит. Стоит брать по скидке, и то если играть не во что.
A very cool game! When will he go to the Oculus Quest?
I went skiing several times before and this is nothing like that at all. Not that I expected the controls to be similar to actual skiing but the controls just plainly don't work very well. I start out randomly jumping like a maniak. The ski's below you always point forward. There is only one track. Avoiding obstacles is really hard from the start so I didn't even see much of that one track. Then when it's game over all controls are stuck and I can't do anything else but close the game externally. This was a waste of money.
