Tetra Tactics

The game would be better with some kind of multi player. It's a good game to kill time. I play it mostly on the Steam Deck. took a while to get use to the controls. Not the best but after learning clicking the track pad is a bad idea, I got the mechanics down easily. The game be as easy or as challenging as you want. After clearing the game once. You will unlock the curses. They are a good tool to keep the game interesting by making the game harder to play.

The tension of the combos is great!

Good re-playability and possible combos, the card dynamics are limited by the "simple" game but nice.

Triple Triad meets Slay the Spire/Monster Train. I've yet to find a game that takes inspiration from triple triad and not completely over complicate the game. Not only does Tetra Tactics not fall into this hole, it allows a huge amount of player expression by using the different hero abilities and relics (like STS) to make you think outside of the box for every turn. I was never confused on why a card flipped (unlike other triple triad like games) Which is the biggest positive for a player like me. I would definitely recommend this game if you have any love for either Triple Triad or games like Slay the Spire, and I would also like to commend the developers for taking inspiration from Triple Triad but very clearly making their game UNIQUE and stand out as it's own product/game/experience.

In fact, I didn't want to close it down to get things done! I lied. It's up and running again. Things can wait until tomorrow? *coughs* So, if you're in need of a little mental massage, do yourself a favor and give Tetra Tactics a try. Your mind will thank you for it.

I bought this game after finding a recommendation for it on Reddit. Does this have the same deck builder appeal as Slay the Spire? Possibly, but I haven't experienced that yet in my limited time with the game. But I have found the game surprisingly engaging and fun. The card game around which the rouge-lite is built has a lot of depth and would be enjoyable without the Rouge-like context. This is a safe buy for anyone who enjoys a good puzzle. I do not yet know if it is a safe buy for someone who wants to build a great deck of cards. Regardless, this game should be receiving more attention. It deserves the good reviews.
