About

Tetra Tactics is a roguelite deckbuilder inspired by the classic Triple Triad minigame from Final Fantasy VIII. Engage in strategic battles on a 4x4 grid, where each card's placement and orientation can turn the tide of combat. With over 100 unique cards, each bearing one of four elemental symbols—Sword, Magic, Shield, or Bow—mastering their interactions is key to victory.
Traverse three distinct maps, facing increasingly challenging enemies. As you progress, collect shards to unlock permanent perks and new heroes, each offering unique abilities and playstyles. Enhance your deck by upgrading cards, discovering powerful relics, and utilizing potions for temporary boosts. Every decision matters in your quest to build the ultimate deck.

The game is a lot of fun and quite addictive. You really have to think about where you're placing cards and make sure you're looking at your opponents deck to plan ahead. Once you get the hang of it, it's really fun.
This my review so far for Tetra Tactics. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tasDGKFeDM What's not said there: They really try to be innovative with card mechanic and roguelike element. Although after you finish a couple of run and end your campaign, it could be empty. The more challenge you got should reward something else besides the curse. Although you can forge your card, it's kinda underwhelming when you going for your 5 or maybe 6 run after you succeed completing all the stages. above all, it's nice experience and complete understand of their audience, give it a go!
Exceptionally cool idea, and exceotionally bad implementation. Would give it 10/10 for a game jam, but 3/10 for a full game. Also - the art is very werid... It's not bad, but it doesn't match each other at all. E.g. - characters are not bad, but they become ugly when put on those cards background (and background are also ok before characters are put on them). Could be a gem, but the way it is - a very underdeveloped game.
Great spin on Triple Triad. Most of the new elements are a welcome addition.
I honestly didn't know what to expect going in. And when I started, I thought the game was fairly simple and easy - but that is what all games should feel like at first, isn't it? After feeling pretty invincible for a bit, I found my hubris was misplaced, and I quickly lost. Ain't a damn thing changed, protect ya neck. Coming back 2 hours later to say that I didn't expect to be this enthralled. As a major fan of roguelikes and sticky progression based systems I love this.
This is the Final Fantasy collector card game but taken to new levels in a good way. Special powers, potions, and symbols really add a lot of new strategy and game dynamics. Mix in some roguelike elements similar to Slay the Spire maps and relics, and different bosses and opponents and you got quite the gem here. I highly recommend this game to those who enjoy the FF card game as this is very amazing take on it. There are shops for cards, potions, and card smiths to enhance cards. It can get crazy when both sides are hitting with enhanced cards and so much fun. My only complaint is some relic combinations become unbeatable when you fight a boss with those relics so some balancing is needed plus some effect and relic descriptions need better clarity/descriptions on when they take effect (some relics take effect the moment the card is placed and before any attacks are executed). These are minor grievances for a fairly polished game. Highly recommended and hope they add expansions. Really glad I found this game from Steam's recommendations.
Played a run through...nice and not too-complex mechanics...have to think a few steps ahead. I do feel the AI isn't terribly clever.
Although I tend to enjoy deck building roguelikes such as this game, unfortunately I cant recommend this one. There are a number of negative points to this game, but to summarize the most impactful ones for me: - One run takes a surprisingly long time, while battles often come down to the same moves/concepts. This makes a game that should be very replayable based on its genre quite repetitive. - Moreover, the individual hero powers dont feel very impactfull, especially later in the game. So when I saw that there were 9 additional unlockable heroes I didn't really see the point of the grind. - The repetitiveness (?) of the music and sound effects only made the feeling that the game was repetitive stronger. - A number of bugs and issues made the entire game feel unpolished and sometimes even unfinished to me. Gold is a vital resource in the game, but I never had any idea how much I had because the counter didn't update. Particularly bad is that going from a fight to the main menu resets the fight for you. Meaning you can just reset any fight you seem to be losing. I do want to note that if you can get past these issues, underneath lies an interesting game that can be surprisingly difficult, and doesn't necessarily have the same issues of "randomness" as strongly as some of the other games in the genre.

I love these kinds of card games because it reminds me of the card games in Final Fantasy games. I like that each run is an adventure and you can progress the map to fight and upgrade your deck how you please.
