About
Hello there! I'm Terry Cavanagh, and I'm a game designer. Maybe you've played some of my games before? I made the C64-inspired gravity-flipping platformer VVVVVV, the minimal action game Super Hexagon, and the dice placement dungeon crawler Dicey Dungeons.
Those are my commercial releases. But I've been making games since I was a kid, and along the way I've worked on a lot of stuff! Most of these games are very hard to get running nowadays, even some of the ones that are only a few years old - computers change and things slowly break.
Making these other games has always been a really important part of how I work, and they include some of my very favourite projects. So I decided to bring some of the best of them together in one big easy-to-play collection, as "Terry's Other Games"! It's a little window into what making indie games has been like for me, from where I started to where I am now.
The collection includes a few reasonably substantial games, including:
Don't Look Back: a retro platformer from the Flash game era
At a Distance: an exploration/puzzle game for two players
Naya's Quest: an isometric puzzle game about weird perspectives
Tiny Heist: a fun and fairly tricky roguelike stealth game
Mr Platformer: he jump on the platforms
But it also includes a bunch of smaller, messier games - experimental games made in a weekend, an unfinished prototype, joke games I made for game jams, a game I made as a teenager. Here are a few titles at random: The Hunt, Radio Silence, A Proper Cup of Tea, memrrtiks suashem, Maverick Bird.
I hope you find something here you like!

Terry makes great games!
雖然愛 Terry,不過這個作品集當中的遊戲真的大多是都缺法打磨的狀態,正常人大概很難好好享受。 價值還是在於理解這些實驗性小遊戲與設計想法的粉絲向作品
Only get it if you like all other games from Terry Cavanagh, especially VVVVVV and Super Hexagon. I loved Dicey Dungeons, but most of these small games are nothing like it. Naya's Quest, despite being annoying, was a good puzzle. Terry should've put NG+ mechanics as normal game (too ez) and the mechanics of normal playthrough (fml) into NG+ tbh. Grab Them by the Eyes and Don't Look Back were also fun. Special shoutout (and a laugh) to A Proper Cup of Tea. Everything else was either unplayable or most often not fun (too frustrating and not rewarding enough) to be worth my time. Thankfully got it on sale.
Yep. They're definitely terry games.
I played Tiny Heist when I was 10. I didn't now Terry Cavanagh made it till now!
i got this just for the greatest tiniest roguelike by the name of tinyheist because the deafult itchio version stopped working for me and hell yeah! it works perfectly in this collection! other than that the little indie commodore aesthetics are such a treat. can't wait to experience everything this has to offer apart from heisting :D
Stumbled across this today, and was astonished to find out that a large chunk of the most memorable CoolMathGames I played growing up (Grab Them By The Eyes, Don't Look Back, Copycat, Tiny Heist) were all made by the same person! And in a single collection on Steam, no less. Those gems will forever stay in my heart, and I can't wait to try the rest of the games! A message to Filthy Burger: READ EM AND WEEP!! JAY'S BURGERS ON TOP!!!
A simple collection of mini games with a few standouts. You can see the influence these pieces had on Terry's larger successes. Rating 7/10. Pros: Naya's Quest is an amazing mind bender and I am so glad to have played it the whole bundle is worth it for that game alone. Games are simple, the cost is cheap, Terry is (probably) a good person and definitely a good game designer. Cons: None if you know what to expect.
I like these games.
