I really like the general gameplay. The characters and levels look cool and the music is quite good as well. However, there are some quite major problems, especially in the custom games. First of all, the fastest enemies (The three hit one and the blue headed one) almost never come in sync with the beat. They often either force you to wait and hit them out of beat (making you lose your combo) or take a hit (making you lose your combo AND getting damaged). Secondly, sometimes the enemy waves are impossible to deal with without taking damage. This often happens when there's groups of two (or three) or enemies with a barrier mixed between all the other enemies. There's simply not enough time to charge your attack and then hit them before the other enemies hit you. Last but not least, the so called 'normal' difficulty feels incredibly hard at times due to the fact that there are times when you get overwhelmed by the amount of enemies on screen and there's no breaks in-between. Enemy waves should be adjusted somehow that it isn't a constant barrage. The maximum break without enemies on screen is probably less than one second right now. Big waves aren't necessarily a bad thing but you should be rewarded with a few second break afterwards. So all in all, the game's pretty good but there should definitely be some tweaks to the enemy waves and syncing. The problems I had mostly occur in custom games but they do happen in the campaign at times as well. (Also there's a bug which sometimes makes you lose the combo even though you hit an enemy in beat?)

"Easy to Learn, Hard to Master" game. First of all, I love the art style! There was a lot of cool design in the different backgrounds and animation. Also the weapons - (that you’ll get from enemies) - katanas, throwing discs and a giant reaper scythe that looks cool as hell as you slice down enemies). The music is also brilliant! Every single track here is big and thumping and geared towards making you want to move. WIthin seconds of starting up the first level, I found myself bopping along in my seat, and that set the tone for every other level. BTW, you also can add in your own songs. The controls are simple, but the variety of appearances with NPCs, items and hit combos are something to be reckoned with, and require a bit of trial and error, especially with later stages. The harder difficulty levels an absolute nightmare (more enemies, harder hits, fewer chances to not die). That's great! Enough of a grab to continue replaying for higher scores both locally and potentially against friends online. I've found that the game is available for Nintendo Switch, so I got this version too! CONS. Sometimes it felt like the game was lacking in feedback. I would also wish to see the community and fan-created levels for even more variety.
It pains me to write a negative review for this game, but in its current state, TERRORHYTHM is just not that enjoyable Don't get me wrong, being a fan of rhythm games, I like this game and see great potential for it, but there are a couple major issues that prevent me from truly enjoying the game
Messy calibration system
Other reviewers have covered how this feature breaks when you use controllers, but since I've never used a controller for this game, I'll let you read those reviews for more accurate information. However, there is still something else that is rather done poorly. The calibration system is supposed to measure your delay and help you make more accurate keystrokes/controller presses, but the system does not do a good job at doing this. Instead of a metronome style test with a simple click or beep, it just puts some music and a visual cue, neither of which are even close to matching. There is an incredibly large offset between the audio and visual cues, I've had my tests be thrown off into the ~220ms region because of this. Once I learned that it was only the visual cue that mattered, I was able to drop it back down to the double digits. If you're doing calibration for this game, you might get better results if you mute the game whilst doing it
Patterns suddenly stop for custom music
This happens infrequently, but is still rather annoying. Sometimes when the game is played for extended periods, the enemy patterns just suddenly stop being generated in the middle of a song, and nothing shows up for the rest of the song. I've tried deleting and re-uploading my songs, and they work as intended after that, but the issue appears again after a few tracks. While occasional breaks are welcome, this is absurd. I want to play the tracks all the way, not get slapped with half-effort generation, especially when the music gets good. All in all, for what it's worth, TERRORHYTHM is a neat game, a great timewaster, but these key components I mentioned desperately require some tweaks. I will change this review if the game is ever updated and fixes the issues
Very good and very fun! Quite easy to learn but very hard to master! I'm already scoring in the top #5 scores and have yet to even play all levels, I really recommend if you like rhythm games.
A rhythm-based fighting game where you have to keep to the beat to perform well; it's cool and fun.
Fun and you can add your own music for custom tracks... Love that feature
.
Dude, just play it. JUST. PLAY. IT.
Tried uploading a custom track for an hour (all my game time is me trying that) and it does not work.
