Reviews
I think it's about time I lay out my own review, to me what feels like a final nail to the coffin of the game. This game is effectively dead. No matter what the discord, devs, or regular players (including myself tell you), it's done. The last major update was the Retribution update, and even that barely helped the numbers. It peaked for about another hundred extra players, and on a game that relies entirely on people being online to play (no offline alternative), this was a very slim hope. Alas, it lasted very short, and you can see the hard peak and hard drop on any player chart if you view by lifetime. As of this current review, there are approximately 10-30 total players active each month. Those are miserable numbers, and sometimes you can't even get a match as the player count is not high enough. Most players have migrated to the most popular region selection just to get a match. I loved, and still do love Marauders, but it has fallen far from grace. What happened to the game is miserable, and there's a lot of blame to go around. Team17 has zero interest in the game, does not list much information about it and tries to dodge most, if not all association with the game. Last major T17 sale did NOT include Marauders. SIG are back and forth about "well we might have an update, but we can't tell you anything" which is corporate speak for "we're not telling you a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing". You can't falsify hope sadly, it only works for so long. It was rode on for Retribution, and fair enough, it DID come eventually, but like I said, it was short, it was sad, and it helped very little. The general playerbase is exhausted with the game, and a recent incident that moved SIG to ban half of the active playerbase was an absolute buffoonery move. Their claim for this ban was 'streamsniping', but SS has been a infinitely long issue with the game that has NEVER been addressed or properly dealt with. There are little to no options to actually prevent sniping, and their response to deal with this is just ban the players and ANYONE ASSOCIATED WITH THEM in a fell sweep. This was even challenged publicly multiple times but got goofy responses in turn, including one that seemed to signal that SIG has a partial lack of ability to issue bans themselves and instead have to issue requests to T17. (Why do the developers of the game not have access to banning options???) I have loved, breathed, and lived marauders for almost 850 hours. I put all my effort into playing the game very often, bought easily 10-15 copies for friends, recommended it to everyone I could, made videos on it, playing daily even, I have seen the best and the worst of the game, but the direction for the game has slowly dwindled to a whimpering death, and nobody is saving it this time. I cannot with good faith and honesty recommend it any longer. I would hope in future with the Stop Killing Games movement and some other things that there's a thumb taken out the ass of whoever is at the top of this ladder and they add a very healthy, likely very welcomed PvE mode. Or just shut the game down all-together. I don't think it really matters at this point. But we can only hope. For now? Ta ta, adios Marauders. You were a blessed one. Maybe one day we can blast into space again. Maybe not. Maybe in 70 years.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 29: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Just got ban by playing the game, cant appeal because company no longer exist, F**king Funny. Steam need to remove this abandon ware off the site. 10 days since banned with no review or response from Team 17 customer service about the reasoning. Small Impact Games and Team 17 is on my ignore list.
Dead game with dead development, there was so much potential here and its just a complete waste
It was a good game, i had so much fun with my friends but.. it's dead. Devs abandoned the game. Don't buy it.
I had very much fun with this game. Overall it is amazing! Great Gameplay, fun setting and loads of difficulty. Sadly the devs let it die. No active development, no active players. Therefore unplayable cause there are not enough player to fill a lobby :( Fair well, fellow Marauders. We loved the time we had exploring!
I loved this game. I came back after a few years to see what was going on. I came back to find a steam fourm filled with insane things, and a discord filled with gas lighters and trolls. If you go into the discord and ask too many questions, the staff will troll you and attempt to make you look crazy. I didn't believe the "dead" game hype, but after having to deal with the crazies who "work" on this game on the discord..i believe it now. Looking forward to joining or instigating the class action against these clowns for leaving up a game to milk people for money. EDIT: That dev response couldn't have been more disingenuous if you'd tried to be. How exactly do i reach out directly? I tried to on the discord and got trolled by a SIG member on there. You want smoke signals or mail? Come on.
They dropped 1.0 2 years ago then abandoned the game. Its currently dead now and you cant get servers for it. Games like this should be de-listed and forced to give players refunds. They could have just added an offline mode with bots at he bare minimum. Dont buy this game, its a waste of money.
17 months without an update, they abandoned a previous game (The Black Death), and this one is clearly abandoned as well. Do not support this developer.
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME

but maybe soon because they're back, somehow? idk, wait for someone to review the next release first
but damn was it good and full of hope. I'm rarely sad at games that die. This one bothers me. There was no reason. It was just abandonned. If they ever pull a 90% off sale or something, grab it, sure, but just remember it'll turn back into a dead abandonned game after that weekend. I'd jump right back in if the player count came up, tbh, so let's hope they do something like that someday.
1k hours on record, we knew the risk and we still ventured into the deep depths of space. This game had so much potential but lack of communication from the Devs and Publisher killed any and all hope left for the game. 30 players daily and no updates. I'll always remember the good times but there will never be any new memories.
