If this would have come out in 1991 I'd probably have really loved it. I played the original 1989 arcade game a bunch, and this is better than the original arcade game in most ways. But come on guys, it's 37 years past that and we deserve a better beat 'em up by now. I love beat 'em up games- it's one of my very favorite genres, and we should be able to do much, much better. The graphics in this game are terrible, but more importantly every time I play it I get bored. It's just not fun. This game can't hold a candle to games like Streets of Rage 2, Streets of Rage 4, Double Dragon Neon, The Dishwasher, or River City Girls 1 & 2 to name a few. Do better for us please. It does feel like the original, but we want much better than the original after all these years.

This one took me back to my childhood. Me and my bro played the crap out of NES TMNT 1 and 2. Old reflexes took control almost immediately despite additional buttons and moves. I really liked the small between-levels scenes with a style really reminiscent of the old games with maybe on short soundbite. Different characters have distinct enough features that you actually have to play them a bit differently, which is a plus. Levels have enough variation and unique features for me, and music, while generally above average, really hits it with the few songs with vocals. The bosses are easy to figure out, and weren't really that difficult, which was a bit disappointing and most have many shared moves with quite similar telegraphing. But all in all, I can recommend this game if you're into brawlers. Worth the price IMO.
this is one of those times you wish there were a 'neutral' option game's serviceable in all aspects, but brings absolutely nothing new to the old formula. Dotemu's safe approach has predictably resulted in total mediocrity and a product that sells thanks to the IP and nostalgia, but forgettable over all

The game is overall good. It brought back nostalgia from when I used to play TMNT on the GBA. However, I have a small issue: for someone using a keyboard, the controls are a bit difficult since I usually use WASD for movement 😹 That’s the only problem aside from that, the game is peak.
The true sequel to Turtles in Time that improves upon everything that were established before while adding new stuff and refining the formula. Online Multiplayer with cross-play WITH Playable Splinter and April as well as tons of references to the 80s show on top of the amazing soundtrack by Tee Lopes is just the cherry on top. Recommended to all the Turtle heads out there! Now if only we could get a similar cell shaded game with the gameplay, art style and mechanics of the 2003 Turtles games that are refined and improved. Pleaseeee? A man can dream.
