STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of Mineral Town

​I was absolutely thrilled when the developers decided to remake Harvest Moon: Back to Nature. This game brings back so much nostalgia, especially the music which is so iconic and memorable. I really love the updated graphics, the new events, the added animals, and all the fresh features they brought to this version. ​That being said, there is one thing that bums me out. I was a bit disappointed to see the greenhouse removed in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town. To me, the greenhouse was a huge deal because it let you grow crops without having to wait for the right season. ​Another thing that frustrated me a bit happened in my fifth year. I found out I could not marry the Harvest Goddess just because I picked the wrong dialogue option way earlier (I will not go into details to avoid spoilers). ​Other than those two things, I am completely satisfied with my experience. Thank you to the developers for bringing back my childhood memories of playing BTN on an emulator. Now I can finally enjoy it right here on Steam with much better quality❤️

I've gotta be honest, this was supposed to be the definitive edition of Harvest Moon Back to Nature, the classic from PS1, but it really isn't. It is a very bloated game. Many things just take too long to get done, and not in a good way. The extra animals available are actually much less profitable than the regular cows and chickens, getting a pet is a super convoluted process that you'll struggle to even find without a guide. The new barchelor and barchelorete are boring AF and ads nothing to the game. Exploring the mine, the mechanic added in the GBA version, is still super tedious. The new art style is also hit or miss, some characters look great, some are completely butchered (like Karen, rip girl...). But what I actually find terrible is that you are basically forced to be bisexual. Doesn't matter which gender you pick for your farmer, you'll always see the hearts for male and female partners and will increase their love even if you just talk to them. There are even achievements for dating every single potential partner before getting married. I'm sorry, but this is an RPG, the game shouldn't be telling me how to play. You want to date and marry just one girl? Well too bad, you'll miss quest itens and an achievement. Yes, it's optional, but the main progress menu will always have missing itens if you don't do that, implying that you're playint the game wrong. I simply can not agree with this design. And the final nail in the coffing for me is that it is a very sanitized version of the game. All the problems and issues that characters used to have are almost completely gone. Everyone is happy, no one has any problems, it's paradise. There is no conflict at all between villagers, everything is as boring as it can be. They could have made so much with these characters, expanded what the original game had, but no, this is a "baby game for babies", they don't trust you to be able to handle interpersonal problems. So yeah, it's a pretty empty experience. A shadow of what it could have been.

No, I fully recomend getting an emulator and playing the original one, this one is so much worse in many many levels... I bought it because of the many many hours I've played the OG for free, just to compensate the producer somehow, since I could not back then, but this version removes a LOT of the greatness I remember.... I love marvelous and all their games, but as a game I cannot recomend buying this instead of getting the much better version on an emulator with a lot of features you can only find there... They removed saving before bed to change the weather, it sucks. They removed the godess game for two freaking years, the one time it is meaningful it isn't there... (y1) Quite a few other changes I just haven't played enough to list, but so far the OG, still by the name of Harvest Moon that got stolen by the distributor, is much better all round

因為以前PS的牧場物語中秋滿月的情懷 買了這款 不只畫面優化了 內容也比以前多 但他有一個很奇怪的問題 會突然LAG ......感覺優化不好 LAG時 人物移動用飄的 對話框出來關閉超級慢 這讓遊玩時很煩躁 建議先爬文看LAG時如何排除

Great game, i know u try to change it so didnt look the same as before because of several things but, i know u guys can develope more better then this. more interaction, expresion and custumize would be really good. and the winter is boring, the other seasons is good.

One of the coziest games I've ever played, simple gameplay loop of farming, fishing, mining, and building relationships is surprisingly addictive. I always end up playing longer than I planned Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and heartwarming game. 👍🌱
