About
Explore the Kyprei-41 galaxy as a lonely TAXINAUT carrying fares across alien worlds. Descent onto planets and fly over alien cities and landscapes. Land at bars, diners, garages and many other common and exotic locations. Interact with the locals to ask for directions or learn about the many esoteric and often clandestine aspects of the Kyprei-41 galaxy.
RPG and space taxi sim / life sim in one: Lead the life of a working-class astronaut, pilot a spaceship and transport passengers across an open-world galaxy.
Fly both on planets and in space. Seamlessly ascent from a planet into space then fly or warp to another planet and descent to it: no loading screens, no "teleporting".
Over 100,000 star-systems with planets and stations to explore.
A grimy sci-fi / fantasy setting: think Taxi Driver in space.
An optional 30+ hours main story-line and 4 secondary story-lines.
Modify your clone with gongs (an RPG-like skill system).
Unlock equipment and other items for purchase at your home and modify your ship to receive free items every time you sleep.
Various foods, drink & drugs with various effects (e.g. skill-buffs).
Weapons and other items to deal with hostile ships, individuals and creatures.
Completely controllable with just the mouse (one hand free to hold a drink, no keyboard needed) or use a controller with the specially made focus-system.
Relaxing real-time with pause like controls: Mouse-click pauses the game to give you time to think: pick a weapon, pick a target, click again to resume and watch what happens.
13 unique music tracks
An optional tutorial integrated into the game, a manual and over 20 short and to the point videos to help explain things as they come up.
Everything fully handmade over nearly 10 years by a solo dev: no engine and no AI.
Highly moddable if you know or are willing to learn Java.

I'm... totally hooked! This game is awesome! The lore setting, the rpg/roleplay immersion is top notch, and I can't stop chilling in my Cab on Yamo, smiling at the goofy characters that I meet along the way. I love the fact that we can put our own music too. I love the songs that's already there, but we quickly heard them multiple times.
Most of the time it's a chill experience. But there's also combat and some places are more stressful than others. Either way, I'm enjoying the game quite a bit. I like the artstyle, and it's a fairly open-ended experience. It's deeper than it looks on the surface, and it feels pretty unique. It is not for everyone. It's a very slow game, one where you've gotta take your time. But if a nice open-ended slow burn experience is what you're after, TAXINAUT is a very good choice in my opinion.

Got 10k vudu together and left Yamo. That's when I knew I could keep playing for hours and hours. Taxinaut is a mysterious and grim (but also a little dreamy) space/taxi simulator with more depth than you'd ever expect. It's lonely and desperate, but there's something nudging towards hope in it too. The gameplay is...well, it can be as simple as taking fares and buying what you like--upgrading ships, new weapons, new tech, hookers, normal space sim stuff--or it's like this wild and weirdly poetic quest for something better than what we're all living. It makes you want to follow that quest. It can be so many things because there are SO many mechanics available to the player. Your trip, and your fares, will be different than mine, but I think Taxinaut is totally worth your time and attention.
Surprisingly fun and different hope the dev keeps going its got alot of potential .Not too pricey so pick it up.
This game scratches my Crazy Taxi and X4 itch perfectly. I love how casual the game is when I want it to be.

I love the big-open-world spaceship career games. Found an unexpected sad and beautiful depth in this one.
