About

Tavernhold is a single-player mix of daylight inn-management and nighttime tower defense. Build up a profitable roadside tavern, gather the resources you need, and hold the line when undead waves march on your gate. Guard the inn—if it falls, your fight is over.

Hire your workers to assign them where they’re needed most: gathering food and timber, constructing new rooms and tables, repairing defenses, or manning the walls when night falls.
Feed travelers and rent out rooms to earn gold, then reinvest it into more workers, faster resource nodes, and stronger defenses.
Spend wood to add tables, guest rooms, spike traps, stronger gates, or new resource outposts. Decide what matters most before the night arrives!

A roguelike twist on every run.
Receive a random bonus at the start of each day that changes how you play.
As days pass, the chances of stronger bonuses increase, pushing you to adapt and plan ahead.

Design the battlefield your way.
Shape enemy paths, place defenses at key locations, and experiment with different strategies.
Watch your plans come together as each night puts your design to the test.

At night, place your workers onto the walls to shoot the enemies and take direct control of a giant ballista. Slow the undead horde with spike traps, pierce clustered enemies with well-placed bolts, and keep your enemies away from breaching the gate—too many slip through and it’s game over!

Advance through a branching research tree to strengthen your inn and defenses. Upgrade your rooms and tables to earn more gold, empower workers and traps for stronger defense, and enhance your ballista with new arrow types to hold back the undead army!

Unlock special arrow types and craft them for battle. Explosive bolts tear through clustered enemies, while frost bolts slow the horde—stock up and fire them at the perfect moment!

Every few nights, powerful bosses lead the undead army to your gates! Defend against them with upgraded defenses, crafted arrows, and careful worker placement.
Master the daily rhythm of gather-build-serve, then withstand each night’s siege to keep your tavern from falling!

I'm not sure what to think of this. Parts of it look like it could be excellent. But then even simple things don't work. For example, it displays a modal dialog and says to press the right mouse button to cancel. Right mouse doesn't do anything, anywhere. Neither does ESC, or anything else I can think of to close the dialog. I'm stuck on Day Two. This is not ready for release yet.
Didn't like it. It's quite basic, looks like a clicker to me. Gameplay looks like roguelike, not a strategy game (which I thought it is).

It was an alright game, but the asking price is in my opinion quite steep for what is about an hour of playtime without any reason to replay it. I had issues in the late game where the rooms would just forget they existed and sit empty without letting new customers in, which didn't exactly help the experience. Let me clarify though I don't think the game is bad, especially for a new dev. However, judging by other games I've played in this price range this one wasn't worth it in my opinion.
Though definately lacking in some polish (little mistakes in the tutorial, not being able to move an archer after placing them at night) overal a fun experience. The difference in playstyle during night and day keeps the game engaging. Definately took me a day or two to understand how to play, but once you got that down it was both easy to figure out what to do in any given moment while remaining challenging enough to give you some "OH ♥♥♥♥ OH ♥♥♥♥ oh ♥♥♥♥"moments. Overall good experience. would reccomend.

Really solid core loop here. It’s got a great "just one more day" feel to it.
The Pros:
- Addicting Loop: Managing the tavern by day and defending at night is a great mix. Very satisfying dopamine hit when the gold starts rolling in. - Vibe: The music is chill and the tech tree is surprisingly deep. - Challenge: It’s actually tough! I almost went under on Day 2. It keeps you on your toes.
The Cons:
- Camera/Controls: The camerawork is a bit stiff. I missed having edge-panning. - UX: Needs clearer alerts when you run out of resources. - Polish: Some transitions (like zombies disappearing at dawn) feel a bit "prototype-ish" right now.
Overall:
It feels like a mix of Age of Empires resource gathering and tower defense. Even with the camera quirks, the loop is tight and I'm definitely going to finish it. Great foundation.
Really fun game for this price! I tried the demo version but the actual gameplay is way different and more addictive. You don't need to overcomplicate your economy and base defense structure. That's something i like in indie games. One thing i didn't like is the balista shooting mechanic, which feels a little off and starts to become a problem in late game. Really positive for me overall!! Already played 3 runs. Can't wait to play a second game or DLC.
I started out really enjoying this game. I thought it was a cool, fresh concept; run a tavern but protect it at night. A cool stratedgy combined with drunks who need to sleep it off. However, it became extrememlly tough to progress. I wound up stuck on a specific day early on in the game. My only hope of continuing would be to completely start over, and in fact I did--only to run into the same issue. This was a dissapointing set back for me. I would have loved to have a more relaxed game mode option, focused more on the buulding mechanic, and less on the combat. In fact, I ended up finding a different Tavern based game for me to enjoy, seeing as I had been really enjoying managing a tavern. So in my opinion, if you are after running a tavern, check out Tavern Master.
