Midnight

"You know those relaxing physics-based puzzle games? Let's make one of those, but make the gameplay not relaxing" -the developers (probably)

This game either needs way more polish, or it needs to be free. But right now, I have to thumb this game down. I usually let some things slide with free or really cheap games, but midnight doesn't get a pass. ---------- The pros: ---------- 1. Great idea, atmosphere and music. 2. Night-time color palette that compliments the atmosphere, including that ray of light your star is casting, love it. 3. Level design is ok, but a bit unpolished. --------- The cons: --------- 1. The worst sin physics - The ball/star feels like it has no weight, this is a physics based golf puzzler. The way the ball interacts with the world needs to feel better, 'heavier' and more satisfying. 2. Awful UI and menu design - Menu is ugly, lacking options like turning off music or sound effects. Every time you fail a level you go back to the 'level select' screen. Time wasting and frustrating. 3. Music is ok, but feels way too generic fee 'public domain music copy-paste here' 4. There is no rhyme or reason for anything you do, some sort of very basic storytelling elements would go a long way. -------- Verdict -------- Eventhough it's just 'ok' - This game needs alot more polish and thought to feel less amaturish. OR - It needs to be free. I give this game an EH.. 4/10.

Not a bad game, but an option to turn off that music or restart the level would have been nice.

Actually my thumb should be at the 10 o'clock position. Over all it fun challenge without being too difficult and at 74 cents it was a very good deal. I didn't have any problem running the game and I was able to finish it with no problems. My complaints are there is no pause, the music has no volume control, can only make a clean exit at certain points and the scoring is hard to understand.
