Tank On Tank Digital - West Front

I bought the original boardgame version of Tank on Tank Westfront for a couple reasons: I love tank warfare in particular; and I wanted a game that I could setup and play several rounds in one sitting. I saw a game with potential to just have carefree fun with, and a clear separation from hardcore wargaming (you know, where you page turn endlessly through a 3" rulebook, calculate wind drift, and if your carbine needed oil...that sort of thing!) in-trade for the simple joys of slinging dice and blowing sh*% up. It delivered, and I still play it a lot, including solitaire where I make the best move possible and switch sides. Don't get me wrong...I play Advanced Squad Leader and other hardcore systems, but it's not always about being an anal Grognard for all of us, all of the time. Tank on Tank Digital (TOTD) takes the experience of the namesake boardgame to an even better level, in my view! It expands not only into new, fun and challenging scenarios, but plays solitaire!!! ...and, you can play opponents, too! I mean, that's an unbeatable deal! Want a quick game...hit the "Fight!" button for a random scenario! In TOTD, you need to understand what you are getting into...it's a basic and simple wargame. But it is also decieving, when looking at it played in front of you as an observer: It's not that simple! In fact, it offers a lot of challenge, in all the scenarios. It's quite addictive. And, it's a joy to look at...very appealing graphics and fun action. It's also a wonderful game for the beginner. This is the type of game that will set the hook in the person just discovering our great hobby. I travel alot, and this is great for those boring nights in the hotel room. It's also a great game for vacation, gettimg a quick game in while the better half is in the spa! It's fun...plain and simple. Well worth the price, and will provide many hours of fun for those just want to play some basic, fun WWII action.

All tanks offensively have the same chances to hit. The difference are only in the defense and range values. I knew this was a simple game, but that is way too much. No worth more than say 3 bucks. Asked refund and this is a first time for me.

Clunky controls and a luck fest. Does not matter how you position your forces, if your die rolls aren't consistently better than average, you will lose. Horrible simulation and horrible game.

Tank of Tank Digital surprised me, in being a game that packs serious punches in challenge and fun, in a beautifully designed desktop environment. Players not only receive a variable number of Action Points per turn, but have no idea if they will receive two, three, or four APs in any given turn. This mechanic adds some interesting challenge and depth to the game. I definitely like the UI and how it plays. Capable of providing hours and hours of fun at a moderate price.

I had a lot of hopes for this title. It looks as if it had potential. Then, I realised that the attack for every unit is practically the same, only the defence value differs. Sorry, that level of simplification for a tactical game makes it meaningless.

Lazy AI by higher dice rolls for CPU.

The Good: - Nice Grapahics, good intervace, good choices of scenarios, interesting "mini-game" concept. The Bad: - A bit of explanatory text for the scenarios would have been nice (historical notes?). - The gameplay is very boring. Not much variety. Realism is very lacking. Could have been much better! Concusion: - I regreat buying this game. Not interesting anough and very repetitive.

Was a very fun game but doesn't load now. Wait until it's fixed.

Game would start but then immediately crash to desktop. Requested a refund. Too bad as it looked like fun.
