I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay. After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like. Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends. Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together. Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that. Thank you.
Take the Cake is a very basic game on multiple aspects. It has very simple visuals and quite an elementary soundtrack, but that wouldn't prevent you to have some enjoyable time playing it. However, the gameplay instructions are very challenging to decipher, it is pretty annoying!

Take the Cake, developed by Ebenit and published by My Way Games, is a physics-driven puzzle platformer that blends whimsical storytelling with neon-infused level design. At its heart lies a simple, almost comedic premise: a fluffy protagonist named Frank sets out on a quest to recover his stolen cake from robotic antagonists. While the narrative remains light and largely unspoken, it provides enough motivation to frame a series of increasingly intricate platforming challenges. The gameplay revolves around navigating 27 levels spread across multiple thematic environments. Each stage introduces a mix of obstacle courses, environmental puzzles, and mechanical hazards that test both reflexes and planning. Frank’s movement feels weighty due to the game’s physics engine, which makes momentum and timing crucial. Unlike traditional platformers that rely purely on precision jumping, this title often asks players to think spatially, taking into account gravity shifts, moving platforms, and reactive elements within the environment. A defining mechanic is the color-switching system. Frank can change his color to interact with platforms and objects of matching hues, effectively altering which elements of the environment become solid or passable. This feature adds a strategic layer to traversal, requiring players to anticipate upcoming obstacles and adjust in real time. Combined with occasional gravity manipulation and gadget-based segments—such as rocket-powered sequences—the game avoids stagnation and introduces fresh dynamics as players progress. Level design is structured to gradually introduce mechanics before combining them in more complex configurations. Early stages focus on teaching movement and color interaction, while later ones blend these elements with tighter platforming windows and multi-step puzzles. Boss encounters punctuate the adventure, offering brief spikes in intensity that contrast with the more methodical puzzle sections. Although none of these encounters are particularly elaborate, they provide variety and a sense of progression. Visually, the game adopts a bright, neon-inspired aesthetic. Environments are saturated with glowing colors and geometric shapes that evoke arcade influences. While the art style may not match the polish of larger indie platformers, it maintains a cohesive identity. Each world introduces subtle variations in palette and layout, preventing visual monotony. The minimalist character design complements the playful tone, reinforcing the game’s lighthearted atmosphere. Audio design supports the pacing with electronic tracks that maintain momentum without overpowering gameplay. Sound effects for jumping, landing, and environmental interaction are clear and responsive, enhancing feedback during precise sequences. The absence of dialogue or heavy narrative elements keeps the focus on movement and mechanics rather than storytelling depth. Despite its strengths, the game’s scope remains modest. The campaign can be completed in a relatively short time, and replay value centers mainly on speedrunning or improving best times. Controls, while generally responsive, may occasionally feel slightly floaty due to the physics emphasis, which can divide player preference. Those accustomed to ultra-precise platformers may find the movement less tight, though others may appreciate the distinctive feel it creates. Ultimately, it stands as a charming indie platformer that combines playful mechanics with accessible puzzle design. Its color-switching system and physics-based traversal provide enough variety to sustain interest throughout its runtime, even if it does not redefine the genre. For players who enjoy lighthearted platforming with a touch of strategic thinking and vibrant presentation, it offers a concise and engaging experience defined by creativity rather than complexity. Rating: 7/10
This game is okay, but please wait until it's on sale for like a dollar or two- This game is not that good. The movement feels okay I guess, but all there really is to do is move left, right, and jump, so I would be disappointed if it didn't feel okay. The puzzles are fine, but some of the levels feel a little bit messy. Overall this game is okay, but I wouldn't pay more than like 2 dollars for it. Pretty sure I got it for like a dollar, personally. DO NOT pay full price for this.
