This game doesn't get enough love. It doesn't hand hold and it does have a lot of content.
so after i bought it, it crashed on start once. after that i managed to start, and went few initial steps, right before i decided to test my first probe. now the game stuck, it always loads in probe control and crashes once i try to return to the lab. 10/10
The retail price of 10€ seems adequate. Overall score: 2/5 About 50 hours of unique gameplay.

many bugs, most of which can be fixed by using the latest beta ("test version").
horrible physics (indoor spaces are too confined, damaging the space suit or throwing the character all over the place, collisions with cables on the ground even worse so)
some mods in the steam workshop alleviate many of the annoying details of the vanilla game
replay value seems low, but steam workshop offers a few custom scenarios to play
I took on Mars and I lost. This sim seems OK from what I played, but it is not very thrilling for me. Maybe it will get better, but the mixed reviews make it hard to commit.
Played 6 hours, the game is really slow and time consuming. Missions got really tedious and time consuming, where I had to drive a rover for 10 minutes straight to reach an objective, just to spend another 10 minutes moving from one point to another. I eventually managed to cause a crash, and when I went to reload realized there wasn't an auto-save (RIP progress). This game is a mars exploration simulator, with the lengthy time investment built in. That said, it has a simple economy-research and construction system which I found entertaining. Overall, this game isn't worth wasting time on.

Take On Mars 2 when?
I couldn´t even build something in the Tutorial. Spent about 1 hour trying to fit the first peice into place. Thought that for 9 € on sale it might be something. I suspect it was a waste of money.
This game had so much potential. Still a broken mess with random crashes.
