This game has heart, and a dedicated dev team that over the past year has laid out 5 different free content updates that enhance an already charming experience. I haven't played a game to completion like this in a while and few games have achieved with quadruple the budget what this has managed. For all of you who remember booting up skyrim for the first time, this is for you.
Super fun game.
GOOD
It's that good.
yuh
This game is like, obsidian or skyrim. Lots of wandering around and murderin stuff. Lots of fun. Dark story, I enjoy it.
Slightly better Elder Scrolls
It's Skyrim if Skyrim was depressed, covered in blood, and ran on a Unity engine that occasionally forgets how to function. Buy it if: You love dark fantasy, meaningful choices, and don't mind a little (okay, a lot of) jank.
Just a great RPG. Some may call it Skyrim lite, and in some ways that's the case, but the story and combat shines in it's own unique ways. It suffers somewhat in terms of polish and features considering the relatively small size of the studio compared to the game, but it gains the charm and the genuine care put everywhere that matters, even when corners had to be cut. Performance is also a downer if you have an older system - I would put the recommended as the minimum, but at least the demo is there to see if your system can handle it. The most impressive thing for me were the sidequests - almost every npc you find will either give you a quest or be involved in one at some point, with the exception of some nameless guards. They are incredibly varied, some having easter eggs hidden or references to other things, but all of it fits into the world and makes it feel more real. One moment you might be deciding a fate of a cursed man, letting him suffer for his transgressions or giving him the peace of death, and on another you might be debating with a priest about the interpretations of his sacred texts because he stole raunchy books and wanted to burn them. There are also plenty of choices to be made, whos impact you might learn in witcher 3 style ending. This was also the first game compelled me enough to contribute to a wiki, so that means something. If you don't mind some jank here and there, it might be up there along with the greats. P.S. Thank you devs for giving us what is essentially the QA/dev test kit as cheats. Cheats are such a rarity these days, and having these removes the need of having to use mods for basic changes, like carry weight, and makes it fun to mess around in game if you're up for it. esc, home, cheatme, esc . ~ for menu, f3 for console. You're welcome.
