Very good game
19 hours into the game and i'm loving it more then i like the demo, i'm nowhere near the end of the game i've just been getting lost looking around the world exploring, if you buy it on sale or at full price it is for sure worth it
I did everything in the first area and had a blast. Then the 2nd area felt a bit bloated and not as easily traversable. There were too many side quests and it was just a bit too much, especially because upgrades did not feel meaningful and there was just overall too much without actual depth - it just felt too repetitive near the end. I still did most SQ. I skipped the 3rd area entirely and just rushed the MQ. I simply did not want another 15 hours of the same. The game was still fun overall, I just wish it was a bit better streamlined. So many quests just really did not need to be and the progression system needed to be more sensible. I maxed out both 2h and DW and simply lacked any motivation to try and push magic because I would have to start at zero while the areas scaling up made this really punishing. Exploration of new areas while everything was still fresh was really the best part. But it really should've been a 30h game and not a 45-60h experience with SQ which is apparently what most people on howlongtobeat got. Just ran out of steam in the end. The Dal Riata were interesting enough but I simply could not be bothered to visit 3 tribes for this and that.
Most Slept on RPG of all time, if you like Bethesda RPGs this is a better version of that.
The best Elder Scrolls game since "Morrowind." Okay, but seriously, if you like the core gameplay loop of TES/Bethesda's house style, but have found the last several games from that studio lacking in the story and mechanical depth department, Tainted Grail may be right up your alley. It's everything you love from the genre, with some much-appreciated refinement. I passed over this one for a long time because the imagery didn't appeal to me, it just looked like another AA grimdark European RPG. And yeah, it is that, but I guess in the most complementary way possible.
Lot's of content, old school Bethesda feeling, and even fun on low graphics cause it kinda is the vibe
