Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival

As much as I love this game and taiko arcade machines in general, this game is wildly overpriced and doesnt feel like a complete package. The game is meant to be played with a taiko drum controller which can set you back $60-90. When playing with a taiko controller, it is a very fun experience, unlike using a regular Xbox controller or keyboard. The base game only includes about 70 songs meaning there is two options to get more songs. 1. Pay a expensive monthly subscription to play 700+ more songs 2. Buy the expensive dlc packs (for instance I bought the chiikawa one that only had ONE song) And all of this doesnt help when the base game default price is $50, so if you want to play it make sure you get it on sale. I personally will continue to play and support the game as a taiko enthusiast, but please be aware that this is a very expensive game and should be way cheaper for what you get. I hope the devs bring the price down or at least make it more accessible to players.

i mean damn it's the drum beater game, of course it's good, lowkey the only problem with this game is that too much is locked behind dlc/pass and the fact online seems to be dead most of the time nowadays wish namco and other big names from rhythm genre made more *globally available* pc releases (ideally maybe port older arcade entries, but that isn't going to happen for obvious reasons) since the home gaming market for rhythm games is god awful in selection compared to the arcade market

OK so, I love this game. I will continue to play it [i]but...[/i] It's just kinda pricy considering that there is a monthly and 3 month membership. There is also a lot of DLC, which is roughly CAD$300 in total CURRENTLY (as more is being added) if i was crazy enough to buy it all. Plus considering that the membership is an online only situation, I'm not exactly too pleased with the idea of having to pay monthly and needing to connect to the internet to play those songs. Plus... the DLC is kinda pricy? The Tamagotchi collab is $8 for ONE song and some Titles (just text) and a single nameplate, 5 mini characters (which i actually do like tbh) and this song can't be played online.... look I mean, I'm used to being upsold a bit due to being a Tamagotchi fan, but damn. Plus Tamagotchi is owned by Bandai, so I doubt the price was a licensing issue... If you dont mind the membership or DLC it's honestly a great game! Just have this in mind before buying...

Its a pretty good game, will run fine on most pcs unless you have a potato. The only bad thing about it is that it has some fast motion and there is so many microtranscations. also wait until it goes on sale, because 50 bucks is not worth it for a 2d game where all you do is press buttons.

I highly recommend this game if you want to get into osu!taiko. It is easyer and it does a good job at teaching you how to play it Pricy yes. It does have it's pro's and con's Get it when it's on sale imo buy it only if you're looking to have fun otherwise I recommend going straight to osu!taiko the base game alone doesn't have many songs and as far as I saw, most of them are the short version and covers has a subscription for like 2$ or like 6$ for 90 days. It does give a lot of songs I liked the multiplayer features and it does have a split-screen mode aswell it has a ranked feature and I found people pretty fast, I personally enjoyed a lot playing with other people on ranked (does not have a MMR feature so early rank you'll play easy maps) It's a rhythm game so just have fun I guess
