snarky gandalfs i like it
Review after 100% Gameplay is very good, it's both a top tier strategy game and puzzle game. There is always something new being introduced, keeping things fresh. Story is bad, told through constant jokes. Still, there is one or another good moment. Characters are cool, and some aspects of the world build are, at least, a little interesting. 9/10
Everything about this game is amazing, it's one of the best games I've ever played. It is a mix of tactics and puzzle, where it's less about overrunning or overpowering your enemy and more about finding an ideal solution by combining the character's skills with the environment and the predicted actions of the CPU. I found the difficulty to be just right, challenging enough to feel accomplished when you complete the objectives, but not so difficult it becomes frustrating or repetitive. Not only is the gameplay super fun, but the writing also makes the game. Every character has an interesting and distinct personality and motivations. It's great to see their interactions and how they develop as the story progresses.
Really fun puzzle game! I will probably replay on a higher difficultly since this is my first XCOM-like game! Note though that there is no luck in this game, you can always control the outcome and test out different things in each round! The story is good and I like the character's personalities and abilities! The time at review is about how long the campaign is!
A strong iteration of Gunpoint's ideas, boy Tom really likes games where you enter into a small space and have to blast someone out of it. + Greatly enjoyed the characterisation and narrative, nice little bit of world building + Ditto to the powers each char had, and their respective trees, it wasn't too confusing and kept things interesting every level. + Great art style, great direction and UI + Loved the little costume customisation too + Also big plus on the branching dialogue, would've honestly preferred more of that and the chats than the combat encounters but yeah that's the game I guess. - Got a bit tired of the formula by about 2/3rds through, stopped doing the bonus objectives. - Last boss level was ANNOYINGLY HARD for my dumb brain but - midbattle saves were a godsend. B.
Probably one of my favourite games I ever played. The story and worldbuilding are great, which made the campaign really fun and exciting to play through. The characters are all well-written, none of the jokes ever felt too corny and all of the dialogue was fun to read through. Loved the art style and music as well! However, to address the elephant in the room, it's not a very long game. You get around 30 hours of gameplay if you do all the missions, 35h if you decide to go for the steam achievements. Those 30h - 35h are very enjoyable, but you should be aware that this is a quality over quantity type of game. Worth nothing that there's a good amount of decent user-generated missions to play through if that's your thing. I'm a big fan of the gameplay, throwing enemies off a cliff or out of a window is as fun during the final missions as it was in the beginning. The abilities and upgrades are all on the creative side too, and a majority of the stuff you unlock gives you new, interesting ways to use your arsenal instead of being a boring +1 damage boost. The difficulty of the campaign was a bit too easy for me, but going for the optional objective made it just right. There's also a bunch of custom modifiers you can use to make it more of a challenge. It's a great game, it really is. If the lack of replayability doesn't deter you, I really recommend it!
Innovative, funny, well designed. Important to keep in mind that it is more a puzzle game than anything else.
The game play is very entertaining, and the story is pretty good too. I like the mix of obb-ball characters, in a DnD meats the modern era kind of a thing.
Super fun tactics game! Like Into the Breach meets Donut County. Don't ask me to explain,
The writing is pretty good, the combat is wonderful, and characters are well made. Well worth the money. The game has a hard mode, challenge levels, and extra side objectives to give it replay value. Other than the challenge levels, I'd say they aren't very good.
