About

Test your mettle (but also your metal) as you discover and unleash the power behind a multitude of magical swords to defeat an otherworldly Celestial evil! Your quest will challenge your reactions, lead you through treacherous biomes, and pit you against the most formidable enemies and bosses.

A giant blade has plunged into the world of Armorial, bringing a hail of smaller blades along with it. The calamitous sword seems to be draining the power of the planet itself, and with each passing day, the rain of swords grows heavier and heavier. To undo this vile corruption, you’ll play as Colt, an unwitting hero who has gained the ability to wield the fallen blades. It's time to make a stand against the Celestial evil that seeks to destroy the kingdom!

As you venture forth, each new sword you find will come with a unique ability, aka its Swordcery. These abilities allow you to perform magical feats like: hurling your sword out in boomerang-like fashion, thundering down as a bolt of lightning, opening up hellfire fissures, or summoning a ring of protective icy swordflakes!

Every blade you find is categorized into a Sword Class, which has its own set of offensive maneuvers. From specific combos to unique abilities, each Sword Class may be more advantageous due to the terrain or combat situation. It is up to you to master and acknowledge which Sword Class's attributes and attacks will work in unison along with your mighty Swordcery abilities. Enemy encounters will test your ability to recognize patterns, reactions to telegraphed attacks, your ability to utilize both melee and various magical attacks, as well as your resource management skills while in the heat of battle.

Each new run, you can expect to discover new swords, find various relics to add to your playstyle, choose new sword class upgrades, and trek through procedurally generated dungeons.

I'm usually not into rogue-lites but Swordcery adds a fun twist to the genre that has got me hooked. Learning all of the ins-and-outs of the different sword-styles has kept me engaged and wanting to unlock the rest of the swords and items. If you're into quirky swordplay then give this game a try!

I like a lot of whats here, but there are for sure some QoL and balance changes that need implementing before its like A+ caliber. I mean this by no way reductively, but the gameplay loop is basicly Enter the Gungeon but for swords, and its pretty much already a good 80% there. I wish it wasn't made in Unity, as the engine has issues with high precision action and combat, but they've mostly found the pocket. I would say recommend, with the caveat to keep an eye on the first few patches to see what the devs decide to change balance and controls wise.
The most important thing - this game is FUN. The mobs are memorable and funny. The number of ways how you can play each run is enormous. Each sword is a mini-game in itself and I like that the game gives you a lot of time and situations to play with them. The deaths sometimes feel undeserved, but honestly, they just give another reason to play more.
THEY JUST NEED TO FIX THE PROBLEMS OF ABILITIES WORKING ONLY AFTER F'ING DEATH!? then the game will be worth it, its no fun dying to a boss bc your abilities wont work in the PERFECT timing of activation, what, 1.2 seconds, yes i care since it makes the game worth playing with commitment to skill and NOT rng since my luck isnt the best so once they fix their over lapping activations then ill commit to playing almost full time.
Fantastic action roguelite with tons of replayablitiy due to the sheer variety in swords and abilities. Solid combat that has an initial learning curve but very satisfying once learned.
I played the demo and enjoyed it enough that I came back for the full release, and I'm really glad I did. The game is challenging, but in a way that keeps making me want to jump back in and try again. The gameplay feels great, and the variety of swords is definitely my favorite part. There are so many different swords and abilities to discover that finding a new one actually feels exciting and can change how you approach each run. I'm still playing and discovering everything the release has to offer, but so far I'm having a great time with it. If you enjoy challenging action roguelites, especially ones with lots of weapons to experiment with, I definitely recommend Swordcery.
Quite fun, Can't wait for this game to grow and see where it goes.
After playing for a couple hours now I can confidently say this game is pretty awesome! Tons of weapons and randomized rooms in each level to keep things fresh. My favorite sword so far is the Sizzling Skewer!
