This game is good and all but what really kills it is when the enemy doesn't even swing at you, but since you're standing in the sword, it causes damage to you. Fix this please.
I love swords in VR and went looking for a good swordfighting simulator. So far, I don't think Sword Master is one of those. I know the game is cheap, but still I've been kinda disappointed. The gameplay is simplistic and gets difficult in the wrong ways. I imagined this would be a game where you have to develop your swordfighting skills against enemies that are increasingly better at wielding their swords. Instead, Sword Master quickly gets more difficult by throwing more enemies at you at the same time, and those enemies get bigger and have bigger shields. That seems somewhat unfair, considering that you have to stand in the middle of two or three guys going at you. Fortunately, though, I learned that I could take down even a huge enemy by doing a repeated stabbing or twirling motion instead of finding the best place or time to strike a blow. The enemies don't seem to be able to defend themselves against simple mashing. Maybe that's why the game makes you fight more than one of them at the same time. So far I've played through almost all the Novice levels. Maybe the gameplay will change at some point. Just know that if you decide to play this, you might get frustrated early on. Graphics-wise, the game is not that pretty. The swords look cool but the player models are strange, with limbs that look deformed. Yeah, I know, only 10 bucks...but whatever. On the plus side, it's a decent workout. I think that this could potentially be a good game, if it encouraged the player to do some actual swordfighting against one (okay, maybe two) opponent at a time.
Good workout, if nothing else. Physics are a little off, but not too badly. Also, what is the left hand for? Shields? When? Not fair to be fighting a full plate armored knight with a tower shield when I don't even have a buckler.
The only meaningful way i found to make damage in this game was stabbing. Each time I tried bashing their shield away, they would stand back (like a real human probably would) which only gave me time to stab. Every time I tried slashing while they were about to attack, I would do ♥♥♥♥ damage and take their sword to my face while with stabbing I could do three one-hit kills in a row. You cant wear the enemies out either, they seem to have unlimited stamina so at least to me it was useless to try any other strategy than stabbing. It was super fun for 15 minutes, until I realized that that 15 minutes had everything I would ever get with this game.
Zrovna toto rozhodně nedoporučuji. Debilní AI, naprosto nudné souboje. Když už tak radši stokrát zábavnější GORN
Absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mental. I use my kitchen for my rift area since it's pretty big, so i'm able to run around a bit and jump dodge, slide around etc. Always loved anything that involves swords and although this game has its flaws I'd say the pros far outweight the cons. You'll need a lot of stamina and a cooling system in your home to play this for an extended amount of time, however. I literally sweat buckets after a couple survival modes getting to around 45 enemies killed in each. WAB!
住口!速速来与我🤺!
很有意思,而且锻炼身体。就是注意玩的时候小心周围的东西。。。
I lost a fight after slashing crap out of my opponent for a full minute. Then he hit my twice because I couldn't block his lunge and I was back at the main menu. If you could have a gigantic shield as well it'd be nice, I might have stood a chance. Gave it a fair go, still think it's garbage.
this game is often recommended as a game to buy by the people of the internet, i'm not sure why. you're stuck in the middle of a square with no way to move other than moving your physical self - basic functionality in VR is snap turning so you're not constantly turning around over your headset cord - and enemies hunch out of your range with their shields constantly up. their animations are clunky, one of them being a wild quick swing that they don't telegraph at all. several times i blocked a strike and died, and stood holding the same position and definitely had blocked the strike but it clipped through. the combat boils down to you poking them around their shield or bashing their shield away only for them to back away and hunch out of range. so you just stand there waiting for them to walk at you with their shield up and you slice at their leg or poke around the shield. also not a good idea to spawn enemies directly in front and behind of the player when they can't really back out to be able to see both of them at once.
